    Small and useful

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The stereo in my car lacks AUX inputs or bluetooth, so I had to use an FM transmitter to connect my iPhone to the car stereo. This one does the job beautifully. The audio quality is really good. It's not quite CD quality, but good enough to enjoy music on ...
    Cons:
Every now and then interference seems to bleed through, or the signal seems too weak and the stereo starts generating more stat...

    So good I bought five!

    Pros:
I love these tiny little USB car chargers. They fit almost flush with the dash. This order came with a low-brightness green LED, which isn't so bright that it becomes annoying at night. Some of the other car charger I've bought have high brightness LEDs, w...
    Cons:
The only con I had was one of them makes a loud buzzing noise. The rest of them are much quieter, but not completely silent.

Not light blue. More of a medium blue

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It charges and transfers data fine. The plug fits snugly into my phone. Two meters is great! Now I can move around without worry the the plug will get pulled out.
    Cons:
The size of the micro-usb grip is a little big. It was interfering with my phone's case. I had to grind it down with a dremel t...

What can you say. It works.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It's yellow, so it sticks out and is easy to find. It's 2 meters long, so you don't have to be so close to the USB outlet. It charges and transfers data just fine.
    Cons:
The micro usb side of the plug is a little big. It interferes with my phone's case. No biggie - I just shaved it down with a dr...

    Works great. Well built.

    Pros:
It works great charging and syncing my Iphone 4. Some of the past cables on DX had an issue where the cable would pull out of the connector or start fraying. This one seems better built. The rubber strain reliefs are doing their job This one doesn't interf...
    Cons:
No cons at all... well maybe one... it doesn't blend.

    Actual output is 500mA

posted by desolder on 03/11/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
The folding plug design is nice. Once it's folded, it's a smooth cube with no sharp edges to catch on anything. You can have this in your pocket and not worry about getting stabbed like with the original iPhone charger. The casing seems strong and of high ...
    Cons:
The biggest con is that it doesn't deliver 1000mA. It only delivers 500mA. I measured 2.0V on both D- and D+ pins, which makes ...

    Cheapest XML on DX

posted by desolder on 12/01/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is the cheapest XML on DX, but don't let the price fool you. It's a great LED. I bought a bunch of them to upgrade some older SSC P4 bike lights. The tint is much warmer than the LEDs they replaced (see my uploaded beamshot photo). This is a big advan...
    Cons:
There is only one pair of + and - solder pads. Some other stars have 3 pairs, so you have more options for placing your wires. ...

Nice side switch light, but some minor issues.

    posted by desolder on 10/01/2012

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is one of the few side switch lights on DX. Side switchers are easier to operate while holding the flashlight, compared to a tail switcher. The design of the body is very sleek. It's just a black cylinder. The hand grip is nicely knurled so it won't e...
    Cons:
There was no thermal paste under the star. This is a concern since I measured the current at 1.1A, which is slightly too high f...

    Good holster for 18650 lights

posted by desolder on 08/27/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a good holster for many 18650 lights. The material is quite thick and the stitching is well done, so it should stand up to considerable abuse. There is both a belt loop and ring so you can use it on your belt, or hang it off a hook or carabiner. I...
    Cons:
I can't think of any cons for this.

There is no replacement for displacement!

    posted by desolder on 08/27/2012

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
When it comes to bass, "there is no replacement for displacement". These earbuds have the largest drivers on DX: 11.5mm. Large drivers push more air - and that means more bass. But it doesn't come at the expense of the mids and highs, which are al...
    Cons:
Because of the thicker wiring, large drivers and metal construction, they're a bit heavier than most other earbuds. This makes ...
