    Handy but oversimplified

posted by dfad1ripe on 02/24/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It is very handy and allows to see some graphic statistics of how the temperature changed. Could be paired with any Bluetooth device so not limited by one controlling device. The belt could be unfasten and washed separately. Software has rich alarm function...
    Cons:
Not enough battery capacity to keep entire night without recharging. Battery state could be checked with a paired device only. ...

    Satisfied, would recommend to friends

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
USB3 supported, though the main limit would be defined by your HDD, and 2.5" laptop HDDs are generally slower than 3.5" desktop HDDs. Small, real metal case. I use it with Seagate ST980811 drive, Windows recognizes it when connected as "ST980...
    Cons:
Not too much faster really with USB3 than with USB2 as I expected. For my HDD I have 32-33 MB/s write speed and 37-39 MB/s read...

    Good item

posted by dfad1ripe on 05/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Such item is a must-have if you fly with european low-cost airlines that limit a weight of cabin baggage strictly. The scale is low weight itself, and it allows to hide the hook so you don't catch or damage your other items. I bought it for fishing initiall...
    Cons:
Hook is not enough wide for 'usual' textile handles of suitcases. Not a big issue though, because the hook is not sharp and doe...

    Not as bright as expected

posted by dfad1ripe on 05/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It's tiny, rainproof and it does not damage a paint of your bike. Does not require a wrench or screwdriver to mount/unmount.
    Cons:
It is bright enough to be noticed on a road by drivers but not enough to light up a road ahead of you. About 2-3 m is what you ...

    Good but very simple

posted by dfad1ripe on 04/18/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very cheap. Durable: it's completely metal, no plastic details. With all that, still low weight.
    Cons:
As it does not have electric contacts, you can control the aperture on manual lens only, and this is not a 'con' - just what yo...

    Good enough

posted by dfad1ripe on 04/18/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent 'exterior'. Good sound, though not as great as for example SKU 3396 has. Good clip.
    Cons:
It seems to have some internal circuits powered from a phone, so you can't use it with a splitter and regular earphones to shar...

    Excellent cable

posted by dfad1ripe on 02/04/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Durable, connectors and cable covered by good plastic that doesn't look 'cheap'. Has a clip, also from good plastic. Works fine with Nokia 5800, except charging of course (it seems that 5800 can't charge from USB at all).
    Cons:
    None found.

    Works well, dies quickly

posted by dfad1ripe on 12/28/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Used it with Dell Latitude D830 for a half of year, and it worked fine. Some budget adapters make minor noise under a load - this one was silent. Cable and connector were much more durable than some cheaper adapters have.
    Cons:
After a half of year, it started to rattle and smell when plugged in.

    It just works

posted by dfad1ripe on 01/11/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It was detected and auto-configured by Windows 7. All I had to do was to select the access point and enter the password. It seems to be reliable, I did not face any issue with it by now.
    Cons:
A cap of USB connector could have a kind of ring for a lace, like most USB flash drives have, so the cap would not be lost. Tho...

Excellent thing but FM modulator doesn't work

posted by dfad1ripe on 01/03/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
7" screen is really big and easy in use. Good set of accessories included. 4 GB of flash memory onboard, where ~50% is free, is enough to install a lot of additional maps even without additional SD card. And yes, native Windows CE desktop is available.
    Cons:
FM MODULATOR DOES NOT WORK. When I switch to FM modulator, the device just turns off it's own speaker and FM receiver doesn't h...
