Very cheap, but not the best

posted by drTr0jan on 04/13/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It is extremely cheap, as cheap as it can possibly get, in fact. Has all the useful instruments: knife, can and bottle openers, + and - types screwdrivers. Thanks to a small ring you can use it as a key chain. Very small, easy to carry at all times with you...
    Cons:
Knife comes dull so you will need to sharpen it. Overall construction quality is reasonable if you have a price in mind but it ...

    Good meter, recommended to buy

posted by drTr0jan on 11/01/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It is a very stylish looking (for me), which is partly due to it big size: it is 13cm in diameter. Fairly accurate compared to other battery-free meters that I've used. I compared it to digital battery-powered meter and found out that temperature is exactly...
    Cons:
I believe it could be cheaper.

    Great gadget

posted by drTr0jan on 11/01/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Main pro is a price, that is for sure. I understand that you can by this sort of card readers even cheaper, but this is a brand(-ish) card-reader and for me it really is a compromise between price and quality. It is very nicely made and it works fast. What ...
    Cons:
Not the smallest reader due to the size of CF connector.

    Quality cable

posted by drTr0jan on 11/20/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Reasonably cheap. Thick and short enough to don't affect the data transfer (wire gauge is 28AWG, but with 80 cm it's not critical). Quality build.
    Cons:
None as I can see. Some people doesn't like these sort of "jelly" cables due to stickiness but it's don't bother me, ...

    Great device!

posted by drTr0jan on 10/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This device is working like a charm! Just connect all the cables and you get quality picture on your TV. Signal from this box is way better then what you can get from any integrated TV output. Plus you don't need to set up the TV output for hours in order t...
    Cons:
For the device - none, really. Supplied composite is a very poor quality, very thin and flimsy. If you connect this via composi...

    Works, but not the best

posted by drTr0jan on 08/10/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I bought this cable to connect my PS3 to an old Funai TV that has only SCART and composite connectors. That function was completed perfectly: image became sharper and more saturated.
    Cons:
Cable looks like it was hand-maded from other cable and does not have a quality feeling. SCART connector looks exactly like the...

    More like a decoration device

posted by drTr0jan on 08/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
No battery required. One measuring tool for temperature and humidity. Looks kinda cool if you like analog devices.
    Cons:
Readings on this are far from accurate. I compared this to a psychrometric hygrometer and on average humidity on this was 10% l...

    Useful kit

posted by drTr0jan on 08/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I bought this kit for my workshop and it seems like it has all essential stuff you need in this case. With it you can cure common basic injuries or give first help until ambulance arrives. The bag is spacious enough for some extra items to fit in (like iod...
    Cons:
Inner pockets could be bigger. I spend some time packing stuff back after extractig all the items from pockets.

A chance to make your system USB 3.0 compliant

posted by drTr0jan on 08/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Allows you to connect modern high-speed USB 3.0 devices! Card itself works great. Based on Renesas D720200AF chipset. Some online publications claims that it is faster that the original NEC D720200F chip, I don't test that but newer chip is definetely bet...
    Cons:
Power connector could be Molex, not floppy because many modern power supplies don't even have floppy power connector. There was...
