    Great price!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, Great for soldering your own LEDs to. The pads solder easy. -ve and +ve are clearly marked. Same size and shape as used on many LEDs.
    Cons:
Boards are punched out so some have a slight bend. Some of the printing is a little off. Not big problems though.

    Pros:
Its sealed so no need to worry about electrocuting yourself on components at mains voltages. Mounting lugs to attach it to your housing.
    Cons:
Can't think of any, but the price can always be lower ;o)

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheapest one I could find anywhere that came with a UK plug. It has a UK charger. Comes with battery pack. Has a headband to use it as a head torch/lamp. Two sizes of rubber bands for bar attachment.
    Cons:
Battery packs are only 4.2v, four 18650s in parallel. Most packs I have come across before are 8.4V, i.e., 2P2S 18650s. Batte...

    Worked well

    Pros:
Not masses amount of modes, just the three. Was bough to replace a failed one in a bike light for a friend. This was a direct replacement. There was very few problems soldering it or fixing it in the lamp.
    Cons:
One wire was badly soldered, but it as easy to remedy and not a big issue as I already needed to use a soldering iron to fit it.

    Saved me making some

posted by ecotack on 01/27/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It works. It saved me making one. Allowed my ballasts to be placed out of harms way and my spot lights on the bull-bar. Its flexible. The connectors are waterproof (hopefully, only time will tell, but working well up to now).
    Cons:
    Should come in pairs.

Nice bright and above all cheap

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Comes with adaptors to fit most lenses. Can be mounted on the lens or on the control box positioned like a normal flash. Light level is adjustable. Uses common AA batteries. Cheapest macro flash I could find.
    Cons:
No TTL control, although at this price not expected. When using in Flash mode camera gets confused and image is over exposed, s...

    Pros:
They are cheap, easy to use, no need to get the soldering iron out and fiddle with the solder types that always end up shorting out when you screw the back on, or find out your wire is too thick, or you solder them and forget to slip the back on first. Goo...
    Cons:
None really, but other types of connectors would make a great addition.

    Multi use waterproof box

posted by ecotack on 08/07/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Apparently water tight, no air leaks when box is squeezed. Will fit a 3x18650 battery holders to make a waterproof battery box (what I bought it for). Strong and waterproof enough for my use.
    Cons:
A little bit to flexible, which could cause a leak. Could be a little more rigid. Clips and hinge rely on the flexibility of th...

    Water tight protective box

posted by ecotack on 08/07/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Splash proof. Bright coloured, so you can't loose it (although I bet I manage to). Big enough for a 3x18650 battery pack and small DC-DC converter. Should provide adequate protection for the battery pack from the elements.
    Cons:
Build quality, this one leaked air and so could not be considered water tight (although its more than splash proof). Could be a...
