    Inexpensive OBDII thingy

posted by eschenbach on 05/03/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    * No-nonsense obd2 bluetooth adapter * Worls with Torque on Android. Probably with many more programs, that's the one I tested it. * Works on my Hyundai Accent. * Has its own mini-CD with programs (did not use).
    Cons:
Can't think of anything. It does not work with Garmin eco-drive GPSs, but then, I guess only Garmin adapters work with those.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    * Four data lines on screen (most bike computers have 2) * Temperature function * Time always visible * Lots of functions (but some are useless) * Legible display
    Cons:

    Simple and clean

posted by eschenbach on 02/04/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    * Simple device, offers mic+headset jacks, volume control, headphone and mic mute buttons * No drivers needed, just plug and play * Great if you need an extra jack or if your built-in is unusable. * Worked on my Win/XT
    Cons:
    * It is not 7.1 audio, I can't understand why they label it as such. But if you just want headphones + mic, it's all you need. ...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Inexpensive, good quality for the money Very bright (do not stare into beam!) Mount can be adjusted up/down, also somewhat left/right (easy to point beam front when mounted on the bike). Just 2 modes (steady / blink) makes it easy to use. Good for use as a ...
    Cons:
Uses 4 batteries (not a big con) A bit heavy Mount seems a bit cheap
