Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I just grabbed these without much thought when I was restocking a soldering kit to replace one that got lost, but I'm really glad I did. It's really very useful of a host of tasks that aren't actually soldering, per se, but often accompany it. Need to pul...
    Cons:
    None thus far

    Pros:
it has a good consistency Not particularly stinky/acrid if overheated No real residue issues if "burned off by extended rework You can always reuse the tub when you're done This flux gets the job done
    Cons:

    Pros:
I don't know why, but I really enjoy using this soldering iron (and I've used a LOT of them in 30+ years as a hobyist). It's light, but *just* heavy enough that the weight of the cord won't drag it instantly off your desk or stand. The handle is cool and th...
    Cons:
I like this soldering iron *but* I figured people would want a full description. If you are thinking of using it with other ti...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The best pro is, of course, the price. You can toss one in every toolkit, your car, etc. Also, it's cheap enough to experiment with. or example, I'm brushing the braid with rosin solutions (made with DX solid rosin) or other flux to see if I can improve the...
    Cons:
None, really. It does what this class of desoldering aid always does,

didn't expect much but more flimsy than expected

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
excellent price "good enough" to work in standard use small size for cramped PCBs
    Cons:
Plastic is soft and thin. It bends and is slightly translucent. All the other clips of this type I've used over the years have ...
