failed after some months of regular operation

posted by fornax on 05/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, works as a replacement for regular lamps. The light color and color reception is ok for a LED lamp. Does not get too hot.
    Cons:
Not very bright. Comparable to 20W halogen. Worse: Started to blink intermittently after some months of regular operation, ...

    Good lamp, but yellowish

posted by fornax on 01/07/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
    - bright (comparable to 50W halogen) - looks good - low power consumption - great floodlight (if you want that) - operating temperature seems ok, I expect it to last some time
    Cons:
    - light is very yellowish, too much for my taste - as with most white LEDs, color rendering is bad. It just feels strange when...

    Pros:
    - its small and cheap - documentation available - easy to set up - configuration is stored in rom

posted by fornax on 12/10/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Build quality is quite good, nearly all the important parts are made of metal. - additional spare part (pick holder+screws) included - battery capacity is enough for a lot of locks - you can adjust the strength - overall: works good, a skilled user shoul...
    Cons:
    - each pick is included only once, even the most important (flat) one. - only one tension wrench included - the bayonet like mo...

    Pros:
    - Cheap device - batteries included - sensor looks waterproof - small

    bright and small

posted by fornax on 06/03/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Its a nice strip, *really* bright. Definitely more power than a 50W Halogen bulb in direct comparison, also brighter than a SSC P7. 950lm sounds legit. I think 3-4 should be enough to light 12m^2 room. Build quality seems good, the LEDs are sealed in the ...
    Cons:
The price... For 12$/piece it would instantly buy 10 of them. It was slightly bended when it arrived. Not a big problem since ...

    it works

posted by fornax on 01/12/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - It works. - good price - metal housing - integrated battery Tested it with GSM phones, effectiveness heavily depends on where you use it. In some basements, the working range goes up to 10m or even more.
    Cons:
If the network coverage is good, the device is almost useless, I expected that. The switch is a bit misplaced, do not carry it...
