posted by haste45 on 01/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Super smooth surface, very shiny and reflective. Good quality of the plastic, not brittle or flimsy. It arrived undamaged. Focuses the light of the LED very well.
    Cons:
the reflective surface is EXTREMELY delicate. Do not touch it with anything, no fingers, not cloth. Any cleaning attempt will p...

    Real glass lens

posted by haste45 on 01/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is a real glass lens. It is fat and thick with lots of magnification. It really focuses the light from a 10W LED well. It throws a nice beam. I use it together with a reflector. The lens stays cool even if the LED gets hot. Glass quality is pretty good.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very well made jewellers loupe. It has glass lenses. Magnifies well, I enjoy using it to check out solder joints. Especially good for small stuff like smd components and to find hairline cracks in circuit boards. The big lens has a bright image.
    Cons:
The combinations of lens diameter and magnification are a bit unusual. The smaller lens has higher magnification, but is less b...

    Thermal glue

posted by haste45 on 01/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Tiny tube, the glue has the consistency of normal thermal grease. It is easy to spread. i used it to attach a thermistor, it surrounds the component well and flows a bit into the cracks between the part and the heatsink.
    Cons:
It takes a while to dry. I don't think it is a rock hard super solid adhesion like epoxy or so. It is a tiny tube, so if you ne...
