perfect replacement for you Huntlight FT02

posted by horizonseeker on 03/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This module is what I'm using to replace the Lux3 module that came with the Huntlight FT02. It is brighter and should be more efficient being that this is using a later generation LED. The module will drop in but you will have to use more force to close t...
    Cons:
requires a tad more force to close the bezel but no gaps.

3 mode and easy to use

posted by horizonseeker on 04/09/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
light weight, has 3 modes (3 middle LEDs - all 5 LEDs - strobe(5 LEDs) - OFF), positive feeling switch, bright enough for darkness, clips onto hat brim.
    Cons:
the build quality is a little flimsy in feel. light output difference between 3 and 5 LED is minimal.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A great versatile light: 1) uses 2 different type batteries with 3 different configurations 2) uses a cree LED (although unknown bin) 3) bright (see below for battery - light section)
    Cons:
reverse clickie (full click to turn on/off, no momentary mode when the light is off) I have a few other Romisen lights that ar...

    Great light for flights

posted by horizonseeker on 02/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
this light is light weight and handy to pack in a carry-on pack for flight and other travel needs. The light is bright if a little on the blue side (can't be helped, this is only a single small LED). Overall, I like the extending action, can be used as a ...
    Cons:
the only negative point I can think of is that when folded, the LED is exposed (faces outward), if not packed carefully, could ...

Portable cords a must for overstuffed backpack

posted by horizonseeker on 02/21/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
wonderfully compact, the small size, combined with the retractable cables makes this a top choice in accessory for a lap top in my pack. I had made do with a tangled bundle of cable for when wireless connections were unavalable, this device freed up an ent...
    Cons:
the retract mechanism is a little awkward as it requires both ends to be pulled in order to smoothly extend. Also, when retrac...

    a snug fit

posted by horizonseeker on 02/21/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
fits snugly over my 15.4 widescreen dell notebook, offers protection from the usual scratches and rubbings inside the backpack.
    Cons:
a little too snug around the corner, could be a little bigger, but it does fit with no problem. material a little thin, fine f...

    works great!

posted by horizonseeker on 11/24/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
lead wires already soldered, saved me some time since I don't have to solder the tiny wires onto the board. works well with SSC emitter, single mode at a good current for great ease in usage. give the old maglite more life and good practice for modding.
    Cons:
    can't see any yet.

    Great attention getters

posted by horizonseeker on 11/06/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
very good attention getters. I live on a street with odd turn-ins that I will miss sometimes. I use these flashing sticks to guide my guest into the my apartments.
    Cons:
construction is not the most robust *feeling*, but under normal use, I see no reason for them to break.

    Will Fit Huntlight

posted by horizonseeker on 11/06/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This module will fit the huntlight Lux series to turn it into a cree light if you don't like the multi-mode switching like me. the textured reflector put out a while smooth beam, bright and useful. to make it and function, the outer spring must be removed...
    Cons:
    none so far.
