    Proteching Lithium Cell

posted by iccyy on 12/28/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This Protection PCB must be meant for AA cells. Total tichness is 1.85mm. With it, an increase of 1.9mm to standard cell should be useable in most devices. It bought 10 at bulkrate, used 4 for Touch-lite that use 4 AA celss, not so protected and may be cha...
    Cons:
The current protection is really limited by the heat decipation. I won't use it for greated > 1A average.

Worth it: cheap, fit and acceptable capacity

posted by iccyy on 12/28/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I bought 3 pair at bulk rate. I also own 4 pairs bought in previous 6 months. The first pair months ago did not fit - length > 52mm. These pairs later are < 50.5mm to 50.9mm. As long as it is < 51.0 mm, it can fit most of appliances. My in mind is Canon...
    Cons:
Of these 6 cells, + another 4 bought previously and 3 grey unprotected, the measure capacity @460mA are 520 ~ 610MAH. 10% more...

    Not bad but expensive

posted by iccyy on 08/04/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This C-zide Lithium was ordered on 6/25, just arrived @ 3.57V, today, the longer wait. Technical metrics: Capacity: 65 minutes discharge on a 1.0 ohm resistor, using average current of 3.6A, 3.90 AH. For DX ithium, this is expected. The internal resistance...
    Cons:
Well, @4AH, what can I say?

    Reasonable good

posted by iccyy on 07/09/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Tested several cycle for capacity: consistantly get 530 ~ 600 mAH. This is considered better that the the sku932 I had before 330mAH, and another pair of LIR132A light purplish blue. about 350mAH. And it passes my smell test... that is: it has NO arometic s...
    Cons:
I would come back and tell you a year later if they still alive. But who bothers, Live moves on.

    Accuracy of the voltage

posted by iccyy on 07/03/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
In my previous review, I thought it measured votlage at various pins... No! It measures individual voltage of each cell, and the total voltage eventually under ALL. Actual measurement against Fluke89-IV: No1. 3.47 Actual 3.4775V No2. 3.45 Actual 3.47...
    Cons:
Well, I would pay more if they provide and under voltage, over charge alarm pin out, to be connected to warning alarm use.

Cheap and Dirty Voltmeter for multiple Li-on Pack.

posted by iccyy on 07/03/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This is a cheap and dirty multi-cell voltmeter I would have to build myself..... It scan through all the cells, beginning with No1 . . , till All. By the way, pinouts are printed on the PCB, with pin1 marked '-', pin7 mark '+', the rest sensor pins. This ma...
    Cons:
What a pity that it did not produce warning and or voltage fault output when one of the cell is under votlage or over-voltage b...

    Really GOOD, comparabel to Mitutoyo's

posted by iccyy on 04/06/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Fantastic! I have a Mitutoyo dial type calipers in inch which is nothing to compare with digital reading. My concern is accuracy to 0.001 in, flatness of the jaws and quality of the steel. Surprise, it is stanless steel hardened, and accuracy, about Maxi...
    Cons:
Not much to complaint about. If you insist, the case is ugly, and there is no brand name giving people a feeling of cheapness.

    Super Duper, you won't regret

posted by iccyy on 01/18/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Few items that I bought from DX exceed my expectation. This one superior. Here are the technical: Charging cut off 4.25V, Discharging cut off @4A, 2.37V, cut off recove to 3.2V. PCB votlage drops @4A = 105mV, @.75A =21MV, measured 1/2 inch from PCB. Ex...
    Cons:
My intention is to use it on cordless hand-drill. It cuts off. The starting current is estimated to be at least 15A, obviousl...

    850 mAH, Too Long ~ 14518

posted by iccyy on 01/04/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Finally, my first protected cells arrived. Measured 3.84V which is good. After charging with the 'OEM charger" (100% fully charged and went to discharge test... The capacity is 857 mAH which is good since I expect less as experienced from previous 'f...
    Cons:
The one bid disadvantage is the length is now 51.8 mm instead of 50 mm. This is big deal because it is too long for "AA&qu...

    That is all I want.

posted by iccyy on 12/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Balun is for converting differential inputs with +, -, pair to single ended (coaxial) BNC. The particular pair has the bandwidth of 40Khz to 1.1Mhz, measured. What I like is the push in differential input connector, easy!! My intended us is to take out all ...
    Cons:
Less that pefect is that the two sides are not isolated (DC). Of course I am asking too much.
