    Good 'n' sharp

posted by jeffwazz on 06/29/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Great ergonomics, but it's a copy of my fave knife, so more than happy that it's a good copy. Sharp out of the box, bald patch on leg as proof. Will push-cut paper easily. Edge retention good, cutting cardboard and packing with noticable dulling yet. Fast s...
    Cons:
No lanyard hole, but can make do with a loop thru the clip. Quite stiff, but oil and tlc loosens things up nicely. Not sure abo...

    Comfortable grip

posted by jeffwazz on 02/24/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nice shape. Comfortable grip. Easy to open one-handed, tip of my thumb picks up nicely in the holes. Easy to close one handed. Liner-lock is positive and hasn't failed or slipped when used as a pry-bar/staple remover.
    Cons:
Not too sharp, the blade on mine is ground differently on each side so it's not symmetrical. The hollow grind behind the edge ...

    Pros:
I love these xt60 connectors. Simple to solder. Heat shrink, also supplied, can be fitted right down into the recess around the post. Nice grippy bits so you can disconnect easily. Have soldered 4 of this batch (3xf, 1xm) and all good.
    Cons:
    None.

    Pros:
Weighs 65g. Concave bearing isn't too noisy, and benefits from a clean and re-lube with a bit of light silicone oil. Response system is clear silicone o-rings, so easy to change to suit your own preference. Balance is very good Full Auldey retail...
    Cons:
None so far-I like the pink and green.

    It's a micro-usb cable.

posted by jeffwazz on 10/22/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Works to charge and data transfer for Samsung Galaxy-S I-9000. Micro plug has the spring-retainers as expected. White plastic is a bit I-phone-esque, so maybe android green could be offered too? It's about 20cm long, and wraps up nicely with a band in a ...
    Cons:
Chunky micro usb, may interfere with some gel cases.

    Brilliant EDC light!

posted by jeffwazz on 06/03/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very bright, great pure white tint. Takes AA alkies/Ni-Mh. Not tried Li-ion. Good thick glass lens at front. Ground edges too. Glow in the dark clikie boot. O-rings at joints. Useful lanyard. Well machined, well cut threads, good coating. Grippy knurling....
    Cons:
Not all threads greased, but I always strip, clean and grease before use anyway.

    Excellent, bright, compact flashlight!

posted by jeffwazz on 05/30/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This is an excellent compact flashlight. Very bright from a single AA cell. Pulls approx 1amp from a (duracell) alkaline, and a wee bit over 2amps from a good NiMH. The Q5 cree emitter is a very good choice, tint stated as WC and seems to match well with...
    Cons:
Mine came with only one thread lubed. Not serious as everything gets stripped, inspected, cleaned and re-lubed.

    Great buy!

posted by jeffwazz on 09/10/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Purchased 2 of these as bike lights for the coming winter months. Fit and finish was acceptable. Head needed a bit of attention to remove swarf and machining burrs. Tail end also needed similar attention, but hey, it was a 5 minute job. Threads were well cu...
    Cons:
Machining on my 2 lights is slightly different. One light tailstands, one doesn't. One of the R2 drop-ins developed a flicker, ...
