    not bad at all

posted by joe_weisman on 03/12/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Good solution for my type of application - connecting many switches and potentiometers to an Arduino.
    Cons:
Not very sophisticated. No way that I am aware of to access the Vin pin, which is surprising. (I soldered a wire to the pin pad...

    Could be better

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Fairly priced, delivers the basic functionality that it promises.
    Cons:
Screen is very pale. Even after peeling off the protective plastic cover, it is basically unusable during daylight. When it's m...

    Great product

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Works great! Well built, easy to use. Nice indicator LEDs show when the SSR is activated. Easy to install.
    Cons:
Not very small, and a bit heavy, but all that adds to the feeling of quality. The 220V contact screws remain exposed, so you ha...

    Works just fine

posted by joe_weisman on 11/08/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Looks and feels exactly like the original, although ships with minimal packing and zero documentation. Fully and perfectly functional and works great with the latest Arduino IDE.
    Cons:
Just like the original OEM product, it's very fussy about USB cables and plugs. I had to fiddle with the cables and plug in sev...

    Amazing for this price

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Delivered the expected performance, at a ridiculously low price. Compact and easy to connect with, compatible with 5V Arduino... can't ask for more than that.
    Cons:
Out of the box the range isn't very impressive - I measured about 15 meters with line-of-sight. Once I soldered a 24 cm antenna...

    Perfect

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Bought two of these already. Both times they arrived in very simple packing and no documentation, but both are in perfect working order. I've done heavy duty things on both of them and they've performed flawlessly.
    Cons:
The bare packing seems strange for such a high quality item, but since everything you need for Arduino is on the web you're re...

    Good for prototype testing

posted by joe_weisman on 10/17/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very straightforward way of creating 8 pushbuttons with separate leads (although common ground). I used two for prototype test of a 16 button device, and it saved me the efforts of mounting and wiring 16 pushbuttons.
    Cons:
It's a rather small and strange device, and I can't image anything you could do with it besides prototype testing. Stopping at ...

    High quality, very useful

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A great way to connect your Arduino, relay board, or any other electronic card with the rest of the world. Long enough the cut for male/female to soldered leads, as needed.
    Cons:
The wires are pretty thin once you break them apart, so you should use carefully, i.e. shrink wrap soldered connections. This i...

    Great value

posted by joe_weisman on 09/05/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Really low price, and gets the job done. I use it to recharge my shaver in the car during my 45 minutes commute. I also charge my Samson phone via the USB socket, so I'm covered. It's got a little LED to show that it's plugged in.
    Cons:
Another USB socket would be nice, since there we need to charge more than one phone in many cases. The indicator LED is a littl...

    good quality, great value

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Has full electronics loaded, including opto-isolators, amplifiers and cute indicator LEDs. Nice connector terminals. Worked great out of the box. Just right for Arduino, no need for additional power feed for operation.
    Cons:
No documentation, and a bit hard to find online. I still haven't figured out what the "com" pin is for. For some reas...
