posted by johankj on 11/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
-It's genuine leather. -Fits a few extra keys -Envelopes my Toyota car key (with built in alarm) rather nicely. -The metals parts feels nice and solid
    Cons:
-The screw that secures the key (a bolt/screw and a long rod-like thing) sometimes comes a little undone. I then have to screw ...

    Nice lttle cable

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Retracts in click steps to desired length, which removes clutter. Small and light, so you can take it with you with your lappy.
    Cons:
Sometimes windoze wont recognise the device. So far I've tried it with a 2.5" HDD and my windoze mobile. Both work.

    It's a compass

posted by johankj on 06/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It IS a fluid filled compass. However, I think it's just water. This takes away some of the wobbliness. It points to the North. It also has a nice compass rose with cardinal headings and degrees.
    Cons:
It's fluid filled, but it's water, which is too viscous. If it as oil, the needle would have been even steadier. The green pain...

    Big than I thought

posted by johankj on 06/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The LEDs are bright, so the flash light part is very useful. It also lays well in the hand.
    Cons:
Much bigger than I thought, so big in fact, that I removed it from my key chain. Granted, I have lots of other stuff on it, lik...

    Nice crisp power saving LEDs

posted by johankj on 04/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Very white (cold colour temperature) light, but not 'cheap' blue/violet white. Crisp and clean. * Uses considerably less power than incandescent bulbs. * Bright. * LEDs last longer than incandescent bulbs. * Seems robust.
    Cons:
    * I don't think the polarity is clearly printed on the package. There is a white gap by which you can tell the anode from the c...

USB Adapter good - Power adapter bad

posted by johankj on 02/16/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The USB Adapter is great, it works like a charm in both Windows 2000, XP, and Ubuntu Linux and other Linux distros. I've used it to boot off CD/DVD, and to install Linux and various windows onto harddrives. It shows up as a removable USB unit. The unit also...
    Cons:
The power adapter is bad. I never got it to work together with the adapter: It didn't power up the unit properly (An external C...

Where I live, these cost twice as much as on DX. It does what it is supposed to do, and the quality is as good as the ones you buy in any wild-life/survival shop
    Cons:
    Didn't come with any instructions.

    Suberb remote for Nikon DSLR

posted by johankj on 12/27/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This light and tiny remote works like a charm, and does exactly what it is supposed to do. It comes with a battery, so it can be used straight away. The button (there is only one) is beneath the laminated plastic front, so should think it is a little dust a...
    Cons:
None that I can think of.

    Good quality cable

posted by johankj on 10/17/2008 Certified Owner

    Pros:
-White colour matches the Wii -Good quality cable -Wii Multi-AV connector of good quality -RCA connectors of good quality -The red RGB RCA is of different colour design than the red audio RCA
    Cons:
-The Wii multi-AV connector goes in slightly too easy, but I doubt this will be a problem -The mold where the cable splits into...
