    Look nice, really weak

    Pros:
These are nice looking magnets, and the finish seems to be holding up better than the other (strong) magnets I've ordered from DX and elsewhere.
    Cons:
"Mild" is an overstatement. I was expecting magnets that would be the strength of old ceramic magnets or thereabout....

Batteries. They're powerful. Gotta get some.

    Pros:
Great price. Great packaging. These are the real deal. Just like you'd find at the drugstore, in individual blister-packs, only one-tenth the price!
    Cons:
They're not powered by proton emissions from the sun, so some day they'll run down. But in the meantime, they're regular old b...

    Works great. Inexpensive. Tiny.

    Pros:
Wow. This is the first review where I marked straight "fives". It's cheap, it's good, it's easy, it's right. Nothing more you could ask for. Plug it into your iPod shuffle. Sync. Be happy.
    Cons:
It would be an improvement to this product if it could read my mind and sync songs I'm thinking of, rather than having to actua...

    Pros:
Works as described; controls most TVs, by cycling through all of it's library of codes until you control the POWER or MUTE of the desired target.
    Cons:
Can take a little while to find the right code. You may not be able to control the channel of a TV in a restaurant if it's fed...

Very simple attachment adds gun-like feel

posted by kdeal on 10/28/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This product is what it is: there's no electronics or fancy mechanics to it. Your Wii remote drops into it and the trigger on the remote sticks through towards the tip of the gun. You use your "other" hand to squeeze the trigger in this forward ...
    Cons:
There's no mechanism to allow you to use your trigger-finger in a more natural way.

    Excellent

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Nice. I wanted a flashlight that was small enough to keep in my pocket but it needed to improve on the last 3 or 4 I've tried: 1. Runs on a AA battery so it won't be out of juice when I need it. 2. Doesn't switch on by accident in my pocket. ...
    Cons:
When I first turned it on, it didn't seem to give me the full brightness mode, even when I cycled through all of the 6 modes. T...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Meets with my expectations. It's a lighter and a flashlight. What more do you need? The flashlight is reasonably bright. The lighter has worked indoors 100% of the time. I haven't tried it outdoors in the wind, but I wouldn't expect much. It's just a ...
    Cons:
Comes in colors apparently. Mine is blue. Like many DX items, you dont' get to choose. There's no hook/clip/ring or any sort...

Works fine with Samsung T629 phone

posted by kdeal on 08/30/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Though the description lists just the D800 phone, I took a risk to see if this would work with my wife's Samsung T629 phone which has the same connector. Other sites that sell chargers listed some chargers that would work with both of these models. Fortuna...
    Cons:
I dunno. I don't think there are any cons. Maybe the charger could get it's power from my ravishing good looks.

    will not charge sgh-t629

posted by kdeal on 08/16/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
I bought this cable hoping it would work as a USB charger for my wife's phone, an SGH-T629. Though the sync capability seems to be okay, this particular phone won't charge off the USB :-(
    Cons:
Won't charge some Samsung phones, namely the SGH-T629

I'm ready for post-apocalyptic survival now

posted by kdeal on 07/13/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I'm not a camper and I'd be more at ease with a butane lighter or a match. (DX sells those too, but they've been out of stock on most of the lighters for a while!) But it seems like having the ability to start a fire is as important as having a good flashl...
    Cons:
No documentation came with my device so I had to figure out what angle to use the scraper knify thing. It didn't take too much...
