Cheap and useful in the glove box for emergencies.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Appears to output accurately 5V 500mA. Useful as an emergency charger for your smartphone or any device that would charge via a regular computer USB port (this would exclude most tablets but include most smartphones). Device is very well-built. LED light le...
    Cons:
Not really a con, but be aware that it only provides a low amperage (same specification as USB port power), so it doesn't charg...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Appears to be very accurate! Runs well on rechargeable AAA batteries. Device is very well built, with a strong hook and handle.
    Cons:
Device is a bit bulky and I was a bit surprised at its size when I first received it. I guess that's part of the reason why it'...

Perfect for in-car use of charging devices

posted by kelvinang on 04/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This device generates "only" 100W of power, so why would you want it? The answer is that because it generates "only" 100W of power, it can afford to be fan-less, which is a very big deal! Besides, if you're only using an inverter to char...
    Cons:
It runs a little hot, being of the fan-less design, but that's to be expected. Also it produces a square wave instead of a true...

    Good quality, very fast card.

    Pros:
Very fast card, appears to be genuine Class 10. I have always been treated well by ADATA memory cards and will have no hesitation in recommending them. I use this with a SD card adapter in my DSLR.
    Cons:
As of the date of this review, the price seems a little bit high. Could have been cheaper as the 32GB cards become more mainstr...

It works well and description appears accurate.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Useful size and form factor. Provided suction cups help in attaching the panel to windows inside the car, or on the inside of the window of the house (as how I had used it). I leave mine permanently attached to a used 12V car battery (without a solar charge...
    Cons:
Seems a bit pricey. The rubber bands around the back of the panel (presumably for easy attachment to the sun shade in the car) ...

Way cheaper than original OEM, but works as well.

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very slim design, works very well with my Pentax K5. It's a very simple device and would work exactly the same as the more expensive OEM product.
    Cons:
The shutter button can be a bit hard to depress correctly, as it's possible to depress the button but not pressed down on the c...

    Cheap multimeter that works well.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Auto-range setting removes the need for multiple settings if testing different products one after another. The built-in storage area for the probes are very useful as you won't misplace the probes!
    Cons:
The wirings for the probes seems flimsy, I would have to try to be careful not to break the wire when removing and storing the ...

    Decent quality

posted by kelvinang on 04/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It works well on my HTC One X for accessing a flash drive, or a USB hard drive (requires Y-cable for additional power supply, as the One X doesn't supply a high-enough USB power to power up the hard drive).
    Cons:
The cable is a bit flimsy. The USB connector end is very stiff and may require a bit of force to connect your USB device to tha...

Fast USB3, slim design but hard to swap HDDs

posted by kelvinang on 04/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
USB3 provides a very fast data transfer rate on USB3-equipped computers. Strong, sturdy USB3 cable provided. Bright green LED light to let you know that the HDD is powered and being accessed.
    Cons:
It's very hard to pry and slide open the case to install the hard drive. Construction of the case is a bit rough, and unless yo...

Fantastic case, non-slip and tight fit.

posted by kelvinang on 04/29/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Good quality silicon case, tight fit (which is perfect) and provides a much better grip than the naked phone without the case. Also prevents camera lens from touching the table if you place the phone on its back, which is perfect. Because of the "wrap-...
    Cons:
As to be expected, it slightly increases the overall thickness of the phone, but it's not a con.
