    Great small cubed magnets

posted by kulps on 07/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
These are great magnets and are better than the spheres because you can use them to hang things. I've not had the coating chip off on me, like I was expecting. Lots of magnets in the set
    Cons:
No real cons to mention, the price could be a bit better but it's certainly not bad.

    Nice headlamp

posted by kulps on 07/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is one of the few headlamps on DX that has the battery and cree emitter in one unit without having a battery compartment at the back. This reduces wire snagging Light stays where you point it and doesnt move around on it's own.
    Cons:
Not super comfortable to wear, but few headlamps are. I wish there was a wider spread on the light, but it's certainly not ba...

If the build quality was there, it would be great.

posted by kulps on 07/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
The concept is great, powering off an outlet via remote is very convenient.
    Cons:
The build quality is pitiful. I ordered 2 of these and one arrived with the wrong remote. I had to RMA to get the correct r...

Cheap earbuds, average quality, super bassy.

posted by kulps on 06/24/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
These are certainly cheap and for their price they're not bad. The fabric wrapped cords are a big feature. They come with extra ear pads, 3 sizes total.
    Cons:
There's a faint whisteling noise that creeps up if you're around HVAC, even when they're not plugged in. They lack clarity and...

    They're Magnets

posted by kulps on 09/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
They're small neodymium magents. They stick together and move around. They're way cheaper than you'd get locally. They're fun to play with an move around in your hand.
    Cons:
I've read some reviews that states the plating comes off, I'f not had this happen to me but I can see how it would They don't f...

    Sharp tweezers

posted by kulps on 09/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
These are some fine tweezers. They're sharp, sturdy and very inexpensive. When used for electronics work the long stury tips make SMD pretty easy. The tips line up well and I have not had them bend on me yet
    Cons:
There are tip covers that these come with, they don't stay on very well and I wish they did. These suckers are sharp and will s...

    Ugly and functional

posted by kulps on 09/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a really great and really simple 18650 battery charger. It has an LED indicator to tell you when it's done and can charge two batteries at once. The springs hold the batteries snugly and the batteries seat well without needing to be adjusted.
    Cons:
It's ugly. There's no getting around it. Function over form was certainly a driving factor in this project. The plastic is pre...

    18650s that work

posted by kulps on 09/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Great batteries, they fit my light well and hold a good charge. They're super inexpensive for what they are. They have an overcharge circuit.
    Cons:
None that I can really think of. Sometimes the cheap batteries have size issues but these were great.

Another passable Cree light from DX

posted by kulps on 09/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a handy little light, it has some basic functions and 3 brightness levels. It uses a cree emitter and puts out huge amounts of light. The case is build well and seems to seal well. The glow washer was a neat touch but I don't know how useful it re...
    Cons:
The tailcap has 2 types of interactions, full click and half click. I find the half click is a bit tough to make go sometimes. ...

    Surprisingly powerful amp

posted by kulps on 09/12/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
For $13 you'll find nothing more compact and powerful. This unit puts out huge power for it's size. The chip this board uses is $9, for the extra $4 you get it assembled and working. Screw terminals felt solid, the caps didn't wiggle around. What more...
    Cons:
The audio clips like crazy if you drive it too hard, that's just like all amps though.
