A Bit on the Small Side, but Good

posted by mctammer on 05/27/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Very inexpensive (a similar helmet at other online shops costs at least $50) - Looks authentic - Good quality plastic shell - Nice matte finish (not as shiny as it looks in the photos) - Includes metal NVG mount
    Cons:
    - Size is a bit small (it fits on my head but with the padding, it rides pretty high) - The padding and plastic buckles look an...

Difficult to Install, but Worth It!

posted by mctammer on 04/08/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Full metal construction - A.R.M.S. trademarks - Strong spring keeps everything in place when either folded or deployed - Mounts very securely onto barrel with screws - No wobble once mounted - Front sight no longer obscures sight-picture on low-mounted op...
    Cons:
    - Difficult and tedious installation - Installation process scratches paint finish on barrel (This is just a cosmetic thing)

posted by mctammer on 04/02/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Very inexpensive - Lightweight - Good variety of connectors for various gadgets - Saves weight and bulk when traveling abroad
    Cons:
    - Very cheap plastic - The USB female plug on the wall outlet unit on mine was bent, rendering it unable to accept the cable

    Comfortable, well-made rail protectors

posted by mctammer on 03/25/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Soft, rubbery construction (Can be stretched to fit if your rails are wider and also adds positive gripping surface) - Can be easily cut to the correct length for your handguard with a razor or craft knife - Very comfortable to hold - Low-profile
    Cons:
    - Getting each section to fit snugly between the rail ribs can be challenging - Minor flash and molding lines

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Very bright - Nice finish - Belt clip is very handy - Mine came with a 5-mode tail switch (High beam, mid beam, low beam, bright strobe and SOS modes)
    Cons:
    - Switch can be a bit finicky (Sometimes I click the switch on but nothing happens and I have to click it again one or two time...

    Very satisfied with purchase

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Full metal construction - Good build quality (Nice finish, good materials) - Includes a recoil screw for extra-secure mounting to 11mm Dovetail rail (assuming your gun has a hole for it) - Depending on the size of your scope, the hollow channel under the ...

Great adapter, cheaper than a grip-pod

posted by mctammer on 03/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Full metal construction - Good build quality (Nice finish, no molding lines) - If you already own a bipod, this option is much cheaper than buying a new one that will fit on 20mm Picatinny rails - Looks better than a barrel-clamping bipod
    Cons:
    - Requires a flathead screwdriver to mount to Picatinny rail (I would have preferred a thumb screw to allow tools-free mounting...

    Good quality, does the job

posted by mctammer on 03/23/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Full metal construction - Attaches to rail using thumb-screw (QD accessories can be too loose and are non-adjustable) - No wobble once mounted - Securely holds 25mm/1" diameter flashlights
    Cons:
None (Unless weight is an issue. The extra metal will add more weight to your gun)

    Pros:
    - Genuine Aimpoint trademarks - Full metal construction - Excellent packaging (Robust foam padding inside box to protect the glass during shipping) - Many accessories included (Scope caps and rail mount)
    Cons:
    - Scope caps are not very high quality - Rail mount is very low (Front sight blade obscures sight picture if mounted on M16/M4,...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - Excellent build quality - Mounts to Weaver rail with no wobble - Responsive flip-to-side action (can be tripped with one finger and doesn't require a lot of pressure) - Solid spring when in open position (once flipped to the side, the spring keeps the sco...
