Probably the best mini torch sold on DX

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Small. Very small. Small enough to put anywhere. It is about the length of my pinky finger. It's pretty bright. The Q5 is still a fairly decent emitter. The best part is the reflector. Consistent and even throughout the flood with a nice throw and a go...
    Cons:
I find the five modes to be useless. I think a light should have no more than three. The button is not a reverse click type so...

    Worth a peek

    Pros:
Small package for an 18650 flashlight. Slim profile means it slides easily in and out of pockets. Doesn't get hung up on clothing. The clip has just the right amount of tension to it; however, it pops off the tube fairly easily. The threads are pr...
    Cons:
It says it has a Cree XML. I find this hard to believe as it is not nearly as bright as other XML lights I have bought off DX. ...

    Decent for the price

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Does as advertised, charges 18650's to ~4.20 volts. Two of them at the same time. Small package means easy to pack and travel with. Lightweight. Opened it up to have a look at the pcb, was surprised to see decent soldering and even a little HV protection on...
    Cons:
Doesn't charge equally, about a 5% error between the final charges of the two battery slots; not a huge deal unless you plan to...

    Nice batteries

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Holds a charge for a long time without use. Has good capacity, close to or more than what it is rated for.
    Cons:
Not sure what about the protection, I was able to discharge one cell to 2.12 Volts. The discharge curve seems quite odd for a ...

    Perfect

posted by mrmts on 01/06/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Build quality is surprising good. Good size and visibility of the laser. Laser doesn't disperse more than 1/4" over 30 feet. The exterior feels like it has an almost plastic coating applied, feels quite nice to touch.
    Cons:
Takes three button cell batteries, not a huge issue. There is a plastic sleeve in the battery compartment that is it falls out ...

    Good all around

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Hey it's a battery, what else could you expect. I have yet to find an application that will not accept these 18650s. They hold a charge very well, no noticeable change in potential after 2 weeks of sitting after charging and cooling.
    Cons:
It doesn't say protected on the case. Not sure the protection fully works as I was able to discharge one cell to nearly 1.10 Vo...

    Great little light

posted by mrmts on 12/17/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Perfect EDC size; fits nicely in the palm; tail switch is easy to use and recessed enough that it won't unintentionally turn on on your bag; Very bright even for an AA light!; I didn't think the zooming feature would be useful but it definitely has...
    Cons:
While all the threads have an o-ring for sealing, the light is 100% not waterproof. This is due to the zooming slide design let...

    One of the better lights

posted by mrmts on 12/08/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Compared to other lights on DX, the quality is very good. Everything is tight and well connected including the reflector and LED platter. The platter seems to have a decent thermal connection to the base but could be improved with thermal paste. O-rings at...
    Cons:
O-rings are small and weak, replace them if you have the slightest notion of getting it wet. Tail Switch is horrible: -Revers...
