    Well built thrower

posted by nagpalji on 08/19/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is a very well built light. The body is solid and feels good and heavy in your hand. The clicky is recessed, so it tail stands. The clicky is also large and unlike other budget lights, which is a plus. Works great off a 18650 sku 20392. Very clean fit ...
    Cons:
Is a bit on the expensive side. I think it would also benefit from a more powerful emitter, which would make it throw even furt...

    Great AA replacements

posted by nagpalji on 08/19/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Professional looking. Increase the output of your lights visibly. Tried with UF C3 sku 4452 (minus tube) and Torch Light C78 sku 29095, perfect fit and working in both.
    Cons:
Slightly expensive (compared to other offerings here).

    Charges sku 932 fine

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Charges sku 932 just fine. Measured the voltage of freshly charged batteries, 3.4V. Light indicator goes from red to green to indicate charging finished. Mine were left a couple hours more in the charger and were fine, not at all hot when I removed them.
    Cons:
Build is just ok. Looks fragile but isn't. Not sturdy either. Has US style pins but runs on 100-240V AC.

    Useful and versatile

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is one of the best deals you can pick up for a light here on DX, along with the evergreen C3 1xAA (sku 1993). The construction is noticeably better than the other Ultrafires I have, giving the impression of a better finished product. Clicky is solid an...
    Cons:
There was a slight rattle with 2xAA but none whatsoever with 1x14500. Does not come with holster as sku 1993.

    Works off a 14500!

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I'll cut to the chase: it works off a 14500! I did put an AA in there but once I powered it off a 14500 I can't even be bothered to take it out and check whether the driver's fried :-) With a 14500 it truly is a pocket light sabre, especially in a smoky/fog...
    Cons:
Build quality could be better, but what do you expect at this price point? The lens retractor is not terribly smooth and could ...

Thrower all right, but needs more power

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Excellent build quality. Feels solid in hand, unlike the various sub-$20 lights here. Well machined body, lubed threads. Tailcap clicky switch is also different from the various Ultrafires etc. and has a more robust feel. No rattle with sku.20392 which fits...
    Cons:
SHOULD come in better packaging instead of just bubble wrap, numerous reports of scratching in transit, like mine. Definitely n...

    Heavy duty stuff

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Well built, solid 18650s. Several independent tests on CPF confirm their excellent performance. Came pre-charged, showing 3.99V after a couple of minutes of usage. Fits (with just a tiny bit of persuasion) a WF-502B 5-mode (sku 16179). Cleanly fits a Unique...
    Cons:
More expensive than other options available here.

    Fits UF C3

posted by nagpalji on 08/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
One of the better looking 14500 batteries. Came pre-charged and were useful OOTB. Put one in a C3 (sku 4452 minus tube) and it fit and worked perfect, no rattle. Brightened up the beam noticeably. Given the small difference in price as compared to other 145...
    Cons:
    Tad expensive.

    Great batteries

posted by nagpalji on 07/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Cheap. Here I got a Maxell CR2 primary for a shade _more_ than one (single cell) of these. Come packed and not loose as might be shown in pics. Natural fit with cheap charger sku 2031. Come ready to use, fully charged at 3.6V. Makes the WF-606A insanely ...
    Cons:
None I can think of. Always good to have stuff cheaper but I'm ok with this price too. Would also look better if it came cover...

    Cheap black dock

posted by nagpalji on 07/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Charging works with a 3GS on iOS 4. Solid rubbery anti-slip feel. Super-cheap, looks cool with a black iPhone.
    Cons:
Audio doesn't work with 3GS on iOS 4. Connector goes in upside down. 3.5 mm jack doesn't fit Line Out cleanly, has to be forced...
