Good design, not so good construction.

posted by nasukaren on 01/24/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Good design with laser and red LEDs. Gaskets on all joints to help with waterproofing.
    Cons:
Bad internal solder joint (see photo) n meant that one laser wouldn't turn on. Had to open it up and resolver the loose connect...

    Good, but weak connector

posted by nasukaren on 12/02/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Passes USB for syncing and power for charging. Much cheaper than Apple equivalent. Overall look is very close to apple's version.
    Cons:
Very weak sleeve on Lightning connector end. Liable to pull off easily. Does not pass audio-thru, so cannot be used with audio...

Works great with iPad2 and iPhone

posted by nasukaren on 07/07/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This cable is fantastic, replacing three of my normal cables. * It has a iPhone/iPad/iPod end, which works great with my iPad 2 and iPhone. Charges and syncs fine. * It has a micro USB for my Kindle. * It has a mini USB for my other devices. It's built sol...
    Cons:
Wish it came in white or other colors as black cables tend to disappear when dropped in dark places like behind cabinets. Hard ...

Wonderful light -- best AAA light at DX!

posted by nasukaren on 12/28/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This has to be the best AAA/10440 light in DX at the moment (12/2010). The light emitting from this little gem is simply amazing. Nice and smooth throw as well, with no hotspots. There's a strong central area and a broader flood area. The build is amazin...
    Cons:
Yes, it is a bit heavy and a bit long. Some folks don't think it makes a good EDC, but I actually like the heft and length, as ...

    Reduces noise and vibration

posted by nasukaren on 12/27/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This is just a silicone rubber space that fits between your fan and your CPU case. If your fan is slightly unbalanced and rotating at a high speed, you can get some noise + vibration telegraphing through the case. This spacer absorbs the vibration and hel...

A nice cheap iPhone 4 cover

posted by nasukaren on 08/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A nice inexpensive iPhone 4 cover. Fits well. Protects the rear and sides of the iPhone. Doesn't block bottom port for accessories. Cutouts for front camera and flash.
    Cons:
No drop protection since it's relatively form-fitting. White plastic can look a bit "cheap" -- but heck, it's a cheap...

Lots of glare! But fits well

posted by nasukaren on 08/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Fits very well. Cut outs for camera (front + rear), speaker, and button. Protective Does not affect touch sensitivity at all.
    Cons:
No side protection -- just where you need it on an iPhone 4 due to the antenna issue. Lots of glare off the surface.

Works well to sync/charge my Kindle

posted by nasukaren on 08/17/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Works well to charge my Kindle. I usually carry around MiniUSB cables since they work with 99% of gadgets (USB harddrives, hubs, GRMS modems, etc.) but I always forget my MicroUSB for the Kindle. This is perfect. I just attach it to my Mini USB cable with t...
    Cons:
A little bit expensive. It should be around $1.50 at most. Build quality isn't super great, but it works.

Works perfectly with XP / SP 3

posted by nasukaren on 04/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Works just great with the built-in bluetooth stack in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and above. I thought of finding another driver but it turns out the MS driver is more than good enough. Just plug it in and let XP do its discovery thing and keep clicking "OK"...
    Cons:
It's a bit bigger than the nano size bluetooth dongles that are available, but the extra range more than makes up for it. I'm u...

Works just great with my iPhone 3G

posted by nasukaren on 02/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Works just great with my iPhone 3G -- you'll need to use either your standard iPhone data cable (USB) or one of the USB iphone/ipod cables here on DX. Either way, charges and powers my iPhone 3G just fine.
    Cons:
The white LED is seriously weak. I wish they could get a nice bright Luxeon in there. :-) Don't think it'll serve very well as...
