    Simple and effective

posted by neilo on 09/04/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Looks just like the real thing. Seems to be reasonable quality. Polished with no rough edges. Rubber is fairly grippy.
    Cons:
This type of adaptor unscrews easily as there is no swivel. But the benefit is its minimal size.

    Cheap and Useful

posted by neilo on 08/01/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This kind of tool is indispensable for close-up work on electronics, crafts etc. This is a way to gain access to a cheap version of something that would normally be prohibitively expensive. I find the three different lenses to be useful, normally I use the ...
    Cons:
The whole thing is a bit fragile. The build quality could be better. Mine came with a wrongly fixed nose piece so I had to bend...

    Just Fine

posted by neilo on 07/29/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Protective case for your batteries. Protected 18650 cells fit just fine, as do primary CR123A cells. (Using http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.05790)
    Cons:
Protected 16340s (CR123As) don't fit quite as well. It is possible to have one 18650 and two CR123As if the latter are put end ...

    Good basic charger

posted by neilo on 07/28/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Light and reasonably well made. Accepts a wide range of cells without needing spacers. Doesn't get hot during charging. Charges cells to maximum capacity (though this does mean a shorter life for the cells). Comes in tough plastic bag suitable for storage.
    Cons:
Inserting a second cell can end the charging process for the first cell early. The light turns from red to green signaling the ...

    Excellent

posted by neilo on 07/25/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very tiny card reader. Works well. Fits into spaces other card readers and flash drive won't. Turns a microSD (TF) card into a tiny flash drive. I find it easy to get the card in and out using my fingernail. But these are so cheap you can have one per card,...
    Cons:
It's a bit thick for some USB ports, but most work fine. It may be due to poor quality ports. Another reviewer suggested filing...

    OK But not great

posted by neilo on 07/24/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
These two drivers enable you to open both the battery compartment of a Nintendo DS (NDS), using the philips driver, and the unit itself, using the tri-wing driver. They are small neat drivers.
    Cons:
Whilst the philips driver is fine the tri-wing doesn't fit the screws on a DS lite particularly well. It has a tendency to &quo...

    High Quality and Value

posted by neilo on 07/23/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
These are outstanding value and quality as they are two part construction. The tip is made of nylon, as is the tip of a genuine Nintendo stylus. Nylon is self lubricating and this helps the tip glide over the touch pad. The tip is also well rounded which me...

    Unreliable

posted by neilo on 07/21/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is a nice size for a flashlight. It fits in the hand really well and is nice and bright with the 18650 cell. The Glow in the dark (GITD) button does provide enough glow for you to see it on the bedside table. Button easy to get to, but recessed enough ...
    Cons:
When it's tightened all the way up the light goes out. You have to back off the threads quite a way to get it to work. This is ...

    Good, but only 560mAh

posted by neilo on 07/21/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Reasonably well made, as far I can see. I have seen some pretty miserable cells in the past. Work as you would expect. Can make a lot of difference in the flashlights that support it.
    Cons:
The capacity of these is around 560mAh (tested with a 500mA discharge current). This is only around 60% of advertised capacity ...

Cheap, but not suitable for long use.

posted by neilo on 07/19/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very cheap and easy to fit. Very nice to have a TF/MicroSD slot that takes the card directly. Provides a front USB port as well, direct from the headers second channel.
    Cons:
If you leave these on for long periods (>8 hours) they overheat and break permanently. There is no power switch so they have...
