    good nonEDC flashlight

posted by neonu on 04/13/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Very good costruction quality. All O-rings are presented as need, but not pre-lubed. Really bright. NF-008 is more bright than my WF-400 with Q2 (sku 06937). Can use 2 18650 or 3 16340 (without extension tube).
    Cons:
Protected 18650 are rattling in the body. Some scotch ribbon on the batteries is good solution.

    new life for rc-g2

posted by neonu on 04/12/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It`s amazing add-in for 1 AA flashlight to provide more light than you can to impress. I have 2 RC-G2 and one was modded with this board to compare. Brightness of stock RC-G2 is compared to MID of modded RC-G2. Stock RC-G2 was greenish, but with this board...
    Cons:
17 mm is not a good size for 1 AA DIY board. 16 mm will be more better size. But a little cutting of aluminium pill of my RC-G...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Build quality is good. Very bright with 3xAAA. Extremely bright with 2xRCR123. Bright and more than 2 hours runtime with 18650. Brighter than my WF-400 with Q2.
    Cons:
3xAAA adapter is some shorter than necessary and contact is pure if you shaking the flashlight. I solder small spacer on negat...

    Cons:
One link of a bracelet has been broken, but it all the same should be shortened, so it is unimportant.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I'll tell only one word: Romisen. He/she is the sample for all manufacturers. Compact, but pleasantly weighty. Perfectly sits in a hand. Excellent quality of assembly. Cree should be P4 (as the manufacturer’s site speaks), I am ready to believe in it - ...
    Cons:
Don't fit 18650 batteries. I shall order a 17670 batteries for long runtime.
