Must have for the electronic enthusiast

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Price is perfect, here these clamps easily cost $15. You get 10 red and 10 black clamps, enough to make 5 testcables of each colour. You could also use the test hooks that are sold here on dealextreme on one side and the clamps on the other. Since I do a lo...
    Cons:
Some clamps don't align perfectly, but after one or two twists they are ok.

    Works as expected

    Pros:
I use this cable to connect my Philips Streamium to a computer speaker set. The Streamium needs an RCA output but the speakers have a jack input. This cable solves that problem. The sound quality is good and the connectors are firm enough so that the other...
    Cons:
    No negative points found.

    Good quality for this price

    Pros:
The headphones provide a good sound quality (but don't go looking here for senheisser quality), nice bass. It doesn't have the muffled sound you sometimes get when buying cheap headphones. They fit snuggly in your ears. One small and one large pair of repla...
    Cons:
The seperation length of the cable isn't adjustable.

    Keep your soldering tip fresh

posted by notexa on 04/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It cleans the tip very good. Works better than a sponge (although I also use the sponge for a final cleaning just before retinning the tip). Compared to a sponge the temperature of the tip doesn't drop a lot.
    Cons:
It's too light. A more heavy base would make sure that it doesn't move around when cleaning your tip. Now I put it against the ...

    Great testing hooks

posted by notexa on 04/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Small, ideal for testing PCB's, small components, IC's, ... Good conducting. They won't damage wire and small connectors as regular clamps might do. Remove the top and put the wire through it, next solder the wire to the copper and put the cap back on.
    Cons:
If you use to much force when removing the cap or using the hooks you might break it. But it is rather small so I don't know if...

    Dustbusters

posted by notexa on 04/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It cleans up dirt (small particles at least) and dust and does it well. Just tear a small part of the contents and rol it over the area you want to clean. The cleaning gel has a nice lime smell and is reausable. it doesn't leave residue. Good packaging, r...
    Cons:
Keep it away from kids. The colour and smell attracts not only dust, but also the little ones ;-)

    Good deal

posted by notexa on 04/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is a great deal. Good sponge that cleans the tip nicely. After adding water is doubles in height (approx. 4 mm).
    Cons:
Not as thick as regular sponges. The dimensions aren't standard dimensions, so you'll have to cut the sponges to get a good f...

    Good quality, does the job

posted by notexa on 04/18/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - Good packaging, the wick comes out easily. - The wick is covered in flux, this makes it easy to remove solder. Most budget wicks don't have this (or at least not enough) - Good suck capacity, the wick can take a lot of solder per inch.
    Cons:
We need longer wicks of this quality (not really a negative, I know)

    Great price/quality

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
All measurement tools except temperature are on board. I love the fact that you can measure capacitors, not found on many multimeters but extremely usefull. Also a nice feature is the buzzer. When testing for continuity I don't have to look all the time at ...
    Cons:
The rubber around the meter is rather stiff and not easily removable. The testing leads are a thight fit. This is good and bad....

    Cheap but still great

posted by notexa on 03/30/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - The price ! Can't find a cheaper RGB LED strip anywhere. - Good quality, the complete strip is covered in sillicone tubing. You can glue this or use double sided tape to install it. - The length indicators are spaced at +- 10cm. This means that you can...
    Cons:
The LEDS aren't the best on the market, some colours seem to be only shades of one another instead of different colours.
