    excellent driver!

posted by prosper on 03/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
-very compact -modes go from: low->med->high!! (instead of high->med->low) -includes leads for LED
    Cons:
-very small-gauge leads, performance may be enhanced with bigger wires. 1000mA through an itty bitty ~30 gauge wire seems like ...

    NOT compatible with 14500!

posted by prosper on 03/21/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
-handy belt clip included -*says* it's compatiblwe with both lion and AA batteries -multiple modes
    Cons:
-does NOT work with lion batteries (well, it DOES for about 1 second before the driver burns out) -Body tube feels thin and ch...

    decent little unit

posted by prosper on 02/02/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
-> pretty decent throw, with usable flood -> the dim modes are actually dim, giving usable bright, medium and low mode. Should last for ever on low. -> mode memory -> 'SOS' is actually SOS (instead of SO SO SO SO)
    Cons:
-> Like any P-60, thermal conductivity from the module to the body is poor -> the clip is soft steel, not springy -> the scre...

    Works fine

posted by prosper on 01/28/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
-> it works -> arrived fully charged -> charges in the Canon charger -> seems to have similar capacity and life as canon OEM unit -> includes snap-cover
    Cons:
-> looks cheap -> misaligned printing -> the 'recycle' symbol looks like it was hand-drawn, it's misaligned and 'wrong' -> m...

    Works well.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
-> small size -> simple layout -> comes with a battery -> works with my 300D and 500D
    Cons:
-> 'zoom' functions are useless on these particular manual-zoom cameras, and just clutter things up. I'd rather just have shutt...

    It works.

posted by prosper on 01/27/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
-> Works with Ubuntu Linux out-of-the-box -> Performance is good, seems to be more stable when paired with distant AP's -> is absolutely amazing when paired with sku.25292 (picks up 3 AP's by itself, and over 20 with the antenna).
    Cons:
-> only includes a small antenna. 800mW power only helps transmission, but not reception. -> funky 2-headed USB cable (I guess...

    decent little p7

posted by prosper on 01/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    -> SSC P7 LED -> includes regulated driver -> love 2-mode lights
    Cons:
-> brightness is controlled with a current-limiting resistor in the tailcap, not the driver -> no mode memory -> no lanyard o...

there are better P7's on DX than this

posted by prosper on 01/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    -> it's got an SSC P7 -> comes with a lanyard -> I love 2-mode lights
    Cons:
-> it's not regulated, direct-drive only (so, you can't use it with 18350's or 16340's) -> 'low' mode is achieved by a current...

    great little light

posted by prosper on 01/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
-> lots of light -> good projection - lots of throw, but also a useful amount of flood -> looks good - plain, no silly 'assault' collar -> includes a lanyard -> bright enough to be useful, not so much as to kill batteries too fast
    Cons:
-> would prefer a matte finish -> a 'dim' mode would be useful
