Finally a suction pump that doesn't suck!

posted by pulkomandy on 04/11/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Solid design, and actually does the job. You'd be surprised at how some of these suction pumps don't. The tip can be unscrewed for cleanup. Solid metal casing that will probably last long, with grip areas so you can hold it while unscrewing the tip.
    Cons:
Nothing. I'm happy with this! I guess after some time it will lose some suction power, but so far it works well.

    Bright LEDs that just work.

posted by pulkomandy on 04/11/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Comes packaged in a reel-band, not like on the picture. LEDs are bright white and work well. They are evenly lit, which is good.
    Cons:
Not so much. Price is cheap and you get a lot of LEDs. CMS package wasn't exactly the same size as what I needed, but, plan for...

    Good computer, bad OS

posted by pulkomandy on 04/11/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Well, at such a low price, you get a nice wireless mouse. And a free computer is included. The device is actually an MK802-2 in a different case. So any software for the MK802-2 will work on it.
    Cons:
The built-in Android system killed itself after some days of use. I installed a Linux system instead, and that works much bette...

    Working SD card reader

posted by pulkomandy on 04/11/2014 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Adds an SD card reader to computers that lacks one. Plugs in the little used express card slot, and fits inside the computer, leaving only the SD socket visible. It's plug and play, no drivers to install, and works with all SD cards I tried with it.
    Cons:
SD card does not fit completely in reader slot whent inserted (stays 1cm out). Watch out to not tear it or break it. SD card i...

    Good, but some packaging problems.

posted by pulkomandy on 06/04/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
You always need some IC sockets when working with electronics. Get some of these sets so you have all required sizes.
    Cons:
Sockets are packaged in a plastic bag with not much protection around them. This means some bent pins, which I had to spend som...

    Lots of headers !

posted by pulkomandy on 06/04/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This 200-piece pack is more than you will ever need, however, this is a good thing if you often end up looking for some pin headers and always end up being out of stock. Just get one pack of these and never be bothered with it again.
    Cons:
They are not gold-plated, which may be a problem in some cases (lke if you use them with female headers), as oxydation could ha...

    Good quality Famiclone

posted by pulkomandy on 10/06/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
This handheld features a very clear display with backlight. It allows playing about 45 classic NES/Famicom games. The case feels solid. The cartridge port could be used to add more games, however I don't know if there are carts available somewhere. I'll loo...
    Cons:
The device looks a bit cheap, even if the plastic is thick. The case shape is maybe part of that, but it's nothing to worry abo...

    Some broken wires

posted by pulkomandy on 09/17/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
They are rather cheap. Comes with a good set of different colors and two different length which are practical to work with. The rubber at the wire ends make them easy to insert and remove on a breadboard.
    Cons:
Some of the wires are not working (not much, but it's still annoying). You have to take care and test each of them before using...

    Works fine

posted by pulkomandy on 09/17/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The price is really amazing. You get a set of 5 diameters of tubes, and 1 meter of each. It shrinks enough to be useful and not slide along the wires.
    Cons:
The smallest one is indeed too small for any use I could think of. Wrapping wire would fit, but not once you soldered it to som...

    Feels a bit fragile

posted by pulkomandy on 09/17/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Well, it works. At such a low price, that's already a good thing.
    Cons:
The design is not very good. The top is made of a cover glued over the bottom part. It's easy to tear them apart. While that's ...
