Small, fast and cheap USB drive enclosure

posted by rkunen on 09/22/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's cheap, it's fast, it looks very nice and comes with a leather pouch. It works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 without any drivers. I had an old hard-drive that takes a lot of energy, and the double USB port cable was mandatory for me. But this litt...
    Cons:
The box isn't closed with screws, but you just push it closed. And that's not too solid. To be sure I just keep the whole thin...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Good solid build quality, works with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 without drivers. Even the vibration works!
    Cons:
None really, it's great. Even the cable is very long, long enough if you hook it to your PC under your desk.

    Absolutely brilliant little USB hub

posted by rkunen on 09/22/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
It's small, it's fast, it's recognized without drivers. And it's really cheap. I had too many USB devices connected to my PC, and now I connect three extra without any loss in speed. Build quality is far above expectations for such a cheap device.
    Cons:
Cable is a bit short. But that wasn't a problem for me, it's all behind my PC case and permanently connected.

    Very solid USB drive case

posted by rkunen on 09/22/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Very solid hard-drive case. It's made of metal and to open the case, you must use the screwdriver that is included. Due to the waved shape of the case the box is really unbreakable. It's just as fast as any USB 2.0 HD interface and compatible without drive...
    Cons:
I actually was looking for a case that fits an old double-height 2.5" hard drive but it didn't fit. But for recent 2.5" drives ...

Better protection than Nikon's own screenprotector

posted by rkunen on 04/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Just perfect. When it is on your D90, you hardly see it is there, but your screen is well protected. For years I used Nikon's own protector, but had some particles (sand?) come underneath and my screen got damaged worse than if no protection would be on. So...
    Cons:
The Nikon logo is a fake one. So underneath your screen you see Nikon written in a different font than the Nikon font. But, who...

Excellent WIFI solution for your desktop or laptop

posted by rkunen on 04/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent WIFI adapter for your desktop or laptop that doesn't have WIFI integrated. Works out of the box, I have it installed on several PC's running XP, Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 and it works perfectly. I have them connected to a Wireless-N but tested a...
    Cons:
To install it, you need the drivers from the CD that is delivered with it. XP, Vista and Windows 7 do not find the drivers auto...

Great headset! For music, look elsewhere

posted by rkunen on 01/22/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Great headset to use with your phone or your laptop: - Sound quality for voice very good and clear - Microphone works very well, the other side hears you loud and clear - Looks like the original one - Feels like the original one - Good build quality
    Cons:
    - Sound not good enough (for me) for music, lack of bass - Remote (in-cable) does work, but only to hang up the phone, so it's ...

The best stylus I've tried so far!

posted by rkunen on 10/28/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
I have tried many stylusses on my iPad 2. Most I do not like. Some from DX and also some fancy ones I bought in stores in my home country. And I liked none of them. Because the rubber is too sticky on the screen. I almost gave up on writing with a Stylus un...
    Cons:
No cons. Maybe that it is smaller than a normal pen, it's about 8.5cm which is slightly shorter. But that is no problem for me.
