Decent price for host, but brightness is lacking

posted by s002cjs on 06/08/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Nice host, as with other WF-501Bs I presume. Was easily able to swap drop-ins to try other setups (this was the first time I've had two P60 hosts at the same time). One of the better reverse clicky switches I've had (easy to push, good tactile feedback). Ok...
    Cons:
I got this to serve as a single brightness companion to a Skyray (rated supposedly at 320 lumens). It turns out the Skyray is s...

    Nice little protective case

posted by s002cjs on 04/10/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
A lot of people wonder why you'd want something like this on an netbook, especially since it adds a little bulk to an item that's supposed to be small. I wanted one to help protect it around the home from small (frequently messy) hands, and for a little ext...
    Cons:
The lid didn't pop on quite as tightly as I'm used to for these cases. It's still on well enough that I can open the screen by ...

Great at higher volumes, not so much at lower

posted by s002cjs on 03/04/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
I'm mixed on this little speaker. First, it has an amazing volume capability in such a tiny package. To be able to carry something this loud, with decent sound quality, in your pocket is a huge advantage. It offers a great variety of powering options...the ...
    Cons:
BUT, the biggest 'Con' of these for me...there is a static distortion that accompanies any sound coming through the system! Thi...

    Fantastic little nano protector

posted by s002cjs on 12/09/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Wow, REALLY nice case, especially for under $3! Protects the screen fits perfectly, and all the connection points (headphone and cable connector) are well thought out and calculated perfectly. Unlike others, mine came exactly like in the image with the litt...
    Cons:
Possible to get a little dust in there before closing. I suggest using a microfiber clock (or better yet, get one of the screen...

Great protector...I didn't even use in on a PSP

posted by s002cjs on 10/29/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
After all the great reviews, I picked one up, planning to trim it down for use on some other LCD screened item (MP4 player, phone, camera, or something). I have a new mini camera that keeps getting smudges on the screen, so I trimmed this protector down to ...
    Cons:
I wish this manufacturer had various sizes available here! (Or am I simply missing them? Must search again!)

    Great LED gadget!

posted by s002cjs on 08/16/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Nice set of options on lights in terms of colors and flashing options: Solid on, fast flash, slow flash, in order from tip to tail, in order from tail to tip, fast tip to tail, and some sort of hypnotic back-and-forth on the front, with occasional flashes f...
    Cons:
Maybe a little flimsy? Even then, it's not going to fall apart unless it's abused.

    Cute little bright light

posted by s002cjs on 07/27/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Bright and tiny! Simple to use.
    Cons:
Build quality isn't that great. One came with pretty much stripped threads on the plug holding the batteries in. It holds, but ...

    Great little pocket light

posted by s002cjs on 07/27/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Great small size. Plenty bright and decent throw for such a small, always-have-with-you light. Solid feel to the construction.
    Cons:
Runs a AAA a little hard, so I replace regularly with rechargeables.

    Just not that bright

posted by s002cjs on 07/27/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Helps a bike be seen. A LOT less expensive than if purchased at a bike shop. Common battery size (3xAAA)
    Cons:
Just not bright enough to really light a trail satisfactorily for me.

Great for extending USB device batter life!

posted by s002cjs on 06/01/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Note that this review is for using the USB output capability of the device: it hasn't been tested extensively as a battery charger. The device is surprisingly solid! 4 AAA batteries (at the time of the writing, the title of the product is still incorrect...
    Cons:
Can't really think of any. Thought the flashlight was silly at first, then realized my primary scenario of using this to run my...
