    A standard for flashlight makers

posted by seckinb on 01/25/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Stable structure. Adheres to heatsinks well. Glues power led stars to flashlight pills or other heatsinks. Can be removed with some force. Not greasy or messy. The tube is big.
    Cons:
The big tube lasts a good time but the cap cracks easily and my first tube is now stone hard solid.

    Much efficient

posted by seckinb on 03/22/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Well this may seem to be a full star review but I must say even if I didn't find zoom lenses much useful, I really liked the functional beam of this light. It gives an even beam at the both zoom ends and useful but ugly combinations of flood and throw in th...
    Cons:
Light is a bit big and heavy to be an EDC but still balanced in hand. Doesn't make a light beam as tight as a convex lens zoom...

    It worked

posted by seckinb on 01/19/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Real glass, Pretty clean image, Focuses well with a P60 host, Made a thrower out of a R5 led. And you can even use an XM-L this time.
    Cons:
None really. Only thing is in some bodies the head bezel may refuse to screw in full, due to the wider lens. May not be that ...

    Great buy

posted by seckinb on 01/19/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Fits quite well in a WF-500 body. Doesn't flicker, or any contact problems in my sample. Memory works well, stays where you turned it off. Makes a very bright, throwing yet flooding flashlight. Low mode is low and very usable indoors. Nice, clean whi...
    Cons:
None I can think of. I would have loved to see 5x R5 leds drop-ins too.

    Pros:
+ Quality manufactured + Shiny led works better than a Q5 + Good size + Works with AA (better than my UF C3 SS) + Works even better with 14500
    Cons:
    - Had fingerprints inside the glass - Price could be a couple of dollars lower.

Can't go wrong for the price

posted by seckinb on 01/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
+ TIR optics + A clean throwy beam + Works well with an XR-E emitter + Can take the place of a reflector easily
    Cons:
    - One in the batch was scratched and a piece chipped in the delivery. - May need to adjust the emitter distance to perfectly ...

posted by seckinb on 01/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
+ Brightness is more than enough even with only an NiMH AA battery. Never needed to put in a 14500. + Floody beam is beautiful. + Can tailstand perfectly + GITD rings + Very good size for an EDC light, a minimum for AA light
    Cons:
    - Mine wasn't warm tint, a bluer white instead (pro/con?) - Had little scratches on the front, nothing important though - Thr...

    Good to carry arround

posted by seckinb on 01/05/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
+ Bright XR-E led with good low mode, + R2 led is throwy, + Reflector is clean and bright, + I don't think the glass is multi-coated but it definitely is a quality clear one. Almost non existent. + Smaller than a P60 host. + Pill is easy to screw off...
    Cons:
    - Quite bigger than I thought, but the 18650 size forces this - The light opening is too narrow - Front O-Ring fits loosely, ...

A solig piece, no springs though

posted by seckinb on 12/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
+ Screws very well onto a TR1200 (WF-500) body, + Pill has a good apace for a big star and even bigger driver board, + Pill has a really good mass
    Cons:
    - Doesn't come with springs - Reflector seems a bit too wide, but may be better for a big emitter - Emitter opening is a bit ...

    A thrower across the room

posted by seckinb on 12/09/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
+ Cheap + Light + Decent brightness + Deep reflector helps throwing further than other <$3 lights. + The belt clip may help attaching it to object while working
    Cons:
    - Build quality is lacking. Reflector assembly is some loose plastic. - The edges of the clip can hurt your finger with freque...
