    Yes, it's bright

posted by skrubol on 08/18/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Bright with a huge hot spot and big spill. Heavy aluminum construction and very solid feel. Well proportioned and balanced for the necessarily large head. Modes work more easily than on other lights I've used.
    Cons:
Yes, it gets warm (not hot,) on full mode. Tail clicky on such a long light (minor.. comes down to personal preference.) Medium...

    Another great value

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Does everything the OEM Canon model does at a fraction of the price. Solidly put together, plugs in securely.
    Cons:
Not very good tactile feedback on half-press. It lost a point on build quality and ease of use for this. Also there is no lat...

    Unbeatable deal

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Works great with everything I've connected to it. 1A (if true) doubles the USB spec, so should work for anything. Solid build, doesn't have any intermittent contact issues on either end.
    Cons:
No cable included, but it's pretty clear from the listing that this is the case.

    It's tiny, bright and multi-mode!

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
See title.. Appears quite a bit brighter than SKU 4896, a AA, SSC-P4 light by the same company and similar price. Clicky is easily thumb-operated. Has O-ring on battery compartment (waterproof?)
    Cons:
Finish is not as nice as other MTE lights. It's a semi-gloss finish, and it's already got a few chips and scratches down to th...

    Needs some reshaping.

posted by skrubol on 09/07/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Great for the price. Had been thinking about assembling something like this out of paperboard, but this is better and cheaper. Snaps can be released to flatten it. Stretchy strap with velcro makes it slip on and off the flash easily. Construction appear...
    Cons:
Mine shipped snapped into shape, and got flattened a bit in shipping. Rather than having a 45 degree bend, it had more like a ...

    Good deal

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Much cheaper than Omni-bounce. Seems to do what it's meant to. Appears durable.
    Cons:
Flimsier construction than the Omni-bounce. This doesn't seem to effect it's ability to mount or stay in shape when on the flash.

Probably good for up to a compact SLR

posted by skrubol on 09/06/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
A bit more than 1/4 the price of the equivalent Gorillapod. Looks pretty similar, and specs are greater than the Gorillapod SLR.
    Cons:
Won't hold a standard sized SLR (I've got a Canon 30d) with a pretty normal sized lens (28-105 USM.) The top ball (behaves lik...

    Pretty good for the price

posted by skrubol on 09/06/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
A bit more than half the price of seemingly identical shade on Ebay. Snaps on and off very easily but stays put.
    Cons:
It doesn't sit quite flat on the back of the camera unless it's pushed in. Goes on a bit crooked (only noticeable when looking...

    Good set for the price

posted by skrubol on 07/18/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Tons of odd bits in sizes that go much smaller than typical driver sets. Solid magnetic driver. Decent tweezers included.
    Cons:
The driver is 4mm hex rather than the standard 1/4", so these bits won't be usable with standard drivers. The driver isn'...
