    Dynamic range lacking, otherwise good

posted by slePP on 11/06/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Overall, the camera works very well and picks out a lot of the details you may want while driving around. The IR LEDs, contrary to some other posts, are somewhat useful at night for the nearby objects that aren't covered by your headlights.
    Cons:
The dynamic range of the camera isn't quite as high as would be best for the varying conditions found in bright daylight (sun f...

QA and layout of the ends could use work

posted by slePP on 11/06/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
These are exactly what I was looking for to attach to circuits under test without having to hold probes. Has a banana jack to attach these and another set of probes at the same time.
    Cons:
The negative lead arrived with the end cap twisted on in a funny way, which caused the internal pin to become twisted up. I'm n...

Works well from an Apple TV

posted by slePP on 11/06/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Straightforward connection, automatic input switching, very small. It is able to handle the stream coming straight out of an Apple TV generation 2 and send it into a pair of headphones. Audio quality is good.
    Cons:
No cons have been discovered so far.

    Batteries died quickly

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a very, very simple keychain. It has a nice bright light and includes batteries. The button to press on is a heart shape, just for fun.
    Cons:
The batteries died pretty quickly and the button can be hard to press, but again, for under a dollar, it's no surprise.

    Excellent, low cost display

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This display can operate in SPI mode, which is a huge benefit when you need the fewest pin count. The backlight is nice and bright and the contrast is adjustable on the back with a pot. Works out of the box with Arduino u8glib.
    Cons:
The backlight needs to be wired separately from the display inputs, and there seems to be no documentation on the current or vo...

    Nice, crisp screen

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I used this with the Arduino Uno starter kit. It is a nice looking shield and is fairly well assembled. The screen quality is good and has variable contrast adjustment. The buttons are all labeled with directions.
    Cons:
Heavy, very heavy. But that's the nature of things.

    Could fit better

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I picked up this along with the starter kit. It works well, though the documentation of which pins are in use is a bit sparse. It works with standard Arduino libraries.
    Cons:
It isn't poorly made, but the contact positioning and component layout is a bit off. The contacts are rather tight and need a l...

    Good quick-start kit

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a clone Arduino (as it says, compatible), but it is just about accurate for pin spacing and so forth (a bit off). The included items are useful as a startup kit, but there isn't anything terribly advanced in the kit. The inclusion of a storage box i...
    Cons:
I would have liked to see a broader array or more parts included. It doesn't come with very many capacitors or resistors, and t...

    Excellent price, well made

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I have now purchased 5 of these, since the price (particularly when buying 3+) is very low compared to other sites. It includes the cable which is a huge bonus when you buy multiple of them. The build quality appears top-notch, all the components work as th...
    Cons:
Nothing that is a con of the device/manufacture, just the board design it is based on would be better if the LEDs were optional...

    Not too bad

posted by slePP on 10/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a pretty straight forward devce. Plug it into the cigarette lighter power plug, and it'll give you a voltage in the LED display.
    Cons:
The accuracy isn't 100%. It's off by about 7% in my car, but as a rough gauge, it is fine enough. The plug is a bit brittle and...
