    More light, less power consumption

posted by spinkix on 04/07/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Peak output around 6.5v, so bright with (2) 3.6v batteries. Ok with one 18650. Nice build, copper module. Good drop-in upgrade for a flashlight that can take heat (metal housing, not plastic).
    Cons:
Costs as much as a whole flashlight! Watch the heat if over 4v.

    Cons:
*NOT* even close to 5W. The rough crown bezel makes it hard to carry in pocket. It appears to be heavier than it is. Actually...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Cons:
A bit bulky and heavy for pocket carry. Battery loose inside, but doesn't rattle due to stiff spring. White LEDs not very...
