No good for UTP network cables

posted by sunnyl on 02/28/2009 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Its cheap - definitely a good idea for cabling in general.
    Cons:
Like the other review said, its too big for your round of the mill CAT5/6/6E network cable. The cable just flows inside the lo...

Works the way its supposed to

posted by sunnyl on 07/03/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Very cheap for 4 SATA ports! I've got shops selling this with 2 ports for twice the price. Team this up with the SATA data and power cables on DX and you're on your way to setting up yourself a cheap file server from an old computer.
    Cons:
As others have noticed, one of the PCI card's "gaps" are too small to fit into a PCI slot. I had to file it to make t...

    good package

posted by sunnyl on 01/02/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Complete package to make a light, good build quality too
    Cons:
Hard to solder PCT to the ring, and the ring falls out easily (and its not easy to solder the ring to the case)

    very bright

posted by sunnyl on 01/02/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - very bright - good price I've got this modded into my SureFire 6P, and it does have a brighter hotspot than my P4 emitter, even though I'm only running this with 800mA (SKU3256)
    Cons:
Star board is big...needs trimming to fit SKU3257 enclosure (see my photo with Q5 in the 3257 enclosure)

    very nice batteries

posted by sunnyl on 12/26/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is very cheap compared to primary CR123As. I use these in my SureFire 6p (just fits) and UltraFire C1. No problems at all.
    Cons:
The extra length is concern sometimes. My SureFire 6p barely takes these.

    useful little light

posted by sunnyl on 12/26/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
    - relatively bright light - very cheap price!
    Cons:
    - very poor build quality. It was literally falling apart when I was installing the batteries - the adjustable angle "loc...

    kinda works

posted by sunnyl on 12/22/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Tried this outdoor one evening, didn't get as many bites as I expected...
    Cons:
...but still got a bite! As already mentioned, the wrist band is quite small, barely fits around my wrist and I'm pretty small.

    decent little light

posted by sunnyl on 12/16/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Its very small, I didn't think it would actually be so thin. Having the extension tube is a good option when its too long to use. It can tail stand (without the lanyard)
    Cons:
It wasn't as bright as I had expected. I also have a SKU 2672, which has the same emitter but runs on two CR123As and its notic...

perfect drop in replacement for surefire 6p

posted by sunnyl on 11/18/2007 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Nice and bright, I'd say looks as good as original Surefire 6p.
    Cons:
    Not sure about power consumption
