Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Firstly, it's cheaper for me to buy a massive pack like this than to buy individual resistors. Secondly, they are neatly bundled up and nicely labelled for easy retrieval. Thirdly, the resistors' are within tolerance level indicated.
    Cons:
I don't know if this is a con, but I got a few M ohm resistors. That's beyond what I need in terms of electronics and is close ...

    A good vibration detection module

posted by tSkye on 01/05/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I managed to get this to work on the first try by parsing the values from the module to my Netduino. This works as an intended on-off vibration switch.
    Cons:
I would have preferred a more sensitive potentiometer on the board, especially at this price.

    Pros:
The module is cheap, it works as indicated and intended for SD card reading. This works on a Netduino too.
    Cons:
As I am using a Netduino, I needed the tech/specs sheet to interface with this module. It was not given here but Google's my be...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I do a little bit of software programming on the side and when the Kinect came, I knew I had to do something about it. Thankfully, this item came along giving me the ability to connect to the computer. I borrowed the Kinect from my friend and got this. This...
    Cons:
Thankfully, or unfortunately, Microsoft came out with a new item called Kinect for the PC with a USB connection. However, it's ...

    a good door bell

posted by tSkye on 01/05/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This is a good doorbell that has been serving me for many, many months. The volume is loud enough for the entire house to hear, also, the range and the battery usage is good.
    Cons:
Although the range can be far, it drops when there are obstacles in the way. I tried to hide the speaker behind a tall vase nex...

This is a very good reflector. Small, light, with both silver and gold. The price is very comfortable and you can purchase a spare if if is important to you.
    Cons:
The quality of the cloth or the quality of the frame may not be preferred by many. However, please take into consideration the ...

posted by tSkye on 01/05/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
I deal with CCTV and IP cameras all the time. This is cheap, simple to set up, robust and packed with features.
    Cons:
Unfortunately, once you perform a hard reset, it is not as simple as going to 192.168.1.1 to access it. It becomes invisible at...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
at the current price, it's ranked average. but if you buy in bulk along with your other purchases, this proves to be a good buy. the plug fits in nicely to the iphone.
