    Great functionality

posted by thirdfox_ on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Well I travel a lot and buy goods from various countries - USA, China, Europe etc. And this functions perfectly whether I'm in Europe charging my Chinese camera or in the US charging my European laptop. Everything retracts in properly and can be held in wit...
    Cons:
Build quality isn't up to the Swiss converter a friend got - but he paid 5 times more for the same thing. The lock feature some...

    Cheap and functional

posted by thirdfox_ on 12/08/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Price and construction - fits very snugly and all the functions work well (touchpad is perfectly responsive - unlike the one I got for my iPod) Easy to attach and once it's on you can forget about it.
    Cons:
For this amount of silicon we could probably get a cheaper price...but mailing costs are included I suppose.

    Not convinced

posted by thirdfox_ on 06/26/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The price is quite cheap for what it is (and the prices you may find elsewhere). It has two levels, and two orientations. Construction material is nice and doesn't feel cheap.
    Cons:
However - I have doubts that the spirit level itself is completely level... looking at it I seem to see a slight tilt in the le...

    Good headlamp

posted by thirdfox_ on 06/09/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Nice bright light - different modes (low, high and flashing settings) are useful. Takes AAA batteries - the battery life seems long - had it for a week and lamp still going strong. Will bring it for my cycling trips anyway.
    Cons:
Construction is cheap plastic (hence the cheap price I suspect) but other than that nothing really wrong with it.

    Works, what more to say?

posted by thirdfox_ on 05/14/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Simply plug in and play webcam - no driver disks to lose or download from the internet (if that option is even available). The image quality isn't too bad either - and LED illumination is user adjustable so you're not either in darkness or blasted with brig...
    Cons:
Shame it didn't come with some additional optional software you can install to get extra functionality with. But you can probab...

    Loud earphones!

posted by thirdfox_ on 05/14/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Sound quality is pretty good - the highs aren't as good as my 50 euro Philips noise isolation earphones but that's comparing apples to oranges. I really like the threaded cord (smooth plastic ones tend to get quite tangled up for me).
    Cons:
The buds provided do not much noise isolation at all. I exchanged them with my Philips buds and it was much better. The sound i...

    Great birthday gift

posted by thirdfox_ on 05/02/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Nifty little helicopter that will delight young and old alike. This was my present to my father for his birthday (he always wanted to fly a helicopter) and the whole family really loved playing with it. The controls are a bit tricky to begin with but now w...
    Cons:
The exposed motors and wires do not inspire too much confidence in the event of a crash - although we have had a two metre drop...

Good caps for the low price.

posted by thirdfox_ on 03/13/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The rear lens cap works perfectly. Fits onto the lens smoothly and has a good grip on the mount. It won't come off in your camera bag I'm certain (though I haven't ascertained how dustproof the cap is). They even say Nikon on the cap (in non-OEM font).
    Cons:
The body cap is very tight (as another reviewer has stated). It will fit without problems though - you may need to use some for...
