Useless while attached on the handlebar

posted by tobixen2 on 11/09/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It works, and it seems pretty nice. I haven't experienced the problems other reports here (compass ball coming lose, liquid inside vaporing away), but then again I haven't been using it a lot yet.
    Cons:
I thought of it, but only after ordering it - would it show the correct bearing after mounting it on the bike? The answer seem...

    Relatively useful

posted by tobixen2 on 11/09/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Looks nice, high resolution, in theory one can read a quite exact bearing and use it i.e. together with a map to find a position fix or to avoid collision with another ship on the sea.
    Cons:
I find it a bit difficult to read the bearing, and it also seems to take quite long time for it to stabilize - one ought to do ...

    Very cheap compass

posted by tobixen2 on 03/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    * Very good compass compared to the price * Fits well in the pocket. * Build quality must be good ... I didn't manage to destroy it yet. ;-)
    Cons:
    * Isn't the red arrow supposed to point to the north? On my compass it points to the south. At least something one ought to b...

Good magnets, but they tend to shatter

posted by tobixen2 on 03/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Super strong. Applications I've used them for so far: * enhancing existing magnet systems, i.e. weak cupboard door magnets. It's just to throw one of those magnets on the existing magnet, and it works much better. * Gluing magnets to toys, i.e. cars, an...
    Cons:
They are maybe a little bit too thin - they break easily. When they break, they get a bit sharp edges. I can imagine those ma...

    Strong small magnets

posted by tobixen2 on 03/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Super strong, quite small. Applications I've used them for so far: * enhancing existing magnet systems, i.e. weak cupboard door magnets. It's just to throw one of those magnets on the existing magnet, and it works much better. * Gluing magnets to toys, ...
    Cons:
I can imagine those magnets being pretty bad if located nearby magnetic storage devices such as hard disks, credit cards, etc.

posted by tobixen2 on 03/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Gives a lot of light compared to the price tag. Easy to install, easy to use.
    Cons:
I really dislike the concept of having to cycle through all the modes when turning it on/off.

Works well for me, but some drawbacks

posted by tobixen2 on 03/29/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    * It's possible to turn the telephone to loud while keeping a conversation and just keep the phone in front of my mouth - though, it seems only possible to turn on loudspeaker mode after starting a conversation. * One feels the vibration very well while ha...
    Cons:
    * the color ;-) I'm color blind, wasn't aware that it's pink until someone commented that the color doesn't fit me ;-) * No s...

Broke after few minutes. No thin nokia adaptor.

posted by tobixen2 on 02/27/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
This would be a very nice thing to have in the rucksack ... sometimes one really needs to use the phone, but it's not always one has access to a power socket. I also really like the idea that they have a LED there ... so one can be prepared both for darkne...
    Cons:
Charging the battery for some few minutes is probably not very good for the battery. According to the other reviews, it seems ...

    Good light, but many annoyances

posted by tobixen2 on 02/23/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
This headlight gives quite bright light compared to the weight. Contrary to many other headlights, the switch does not turn itself on while it's in a rucksack or pocket.
    Cons:
    * Battery lid has a tendency to pop open ... I'm lucky to still have mine. * The mode selection is just annoying .... one cl...
