Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Heavy metal casing, push button (and do not have to hold) for activation, red beam is bright and just visible at certain angles in a well lit room; burns black plastics and paper with ease
    Cons:
Need to have instructions for inserting batteries with proper polarity, although I installed mine backwards initially and did n...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Temperature can be read in whole degrees or to the nearest tenth. Large display, and very little waiting time for a reading to occur. Seems to be accurate (has consistently read within +/-0.4 degrees of my body temp). Also has either C or F and max/min s...
    Cons:
The biggest drawback is that it will not measure beyond 392 F with current probe; to get advertised value requires the TP-K02 p...

    Probably not worth it

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Bright beam, doesn't consume batteries very fast.
    Cons:
Not as bright as either of the "true" DX30's I have, so I'm guessing the lower price means less quality control.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Compact, bright beam. Easy to use.
    Cons:
Not really much I can think of except *maybe* adding an outboard IR filter to the front. Some of these aren't IR filtered and ...

    could be better

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
More solidly built than the other lasers. Might make for a more sufficient heatsink.
    Cons:
With the one I have, the output sometimes dims at startup and most of the time there has been a rapid brightening and dimming.

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Beam is bright enough to be seen in daylight; can light matches and burn plastics at close distances.
    Cons:
Uses much battery power- you might want to rehouse it into a different housing and power with higher current batteries.
