does what it's supposed to and it's cheap

posted by vagservice on 05/05/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Good fit - my arm/hand is large and there's no problem, and the size is adjustable. The cord is plenty long and it clips on the wrist band with a button for easy removal if you've got to move. The aligator clip's spring is very strong
    Cons:
The plastic sheathing on the wire seems relatively cheap and I'm somewhat curious about the strength/gauge of the wire itself. ...

It's ok, but DX has some better options

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
The magnifying glass is useful and works well, assuming you don't already have one. The driver is built fairly well and the case is OK.
    Cons:
Perhaps it's just personal opinion but I don't like the way this kit holds the bits. They just wedge in a slot. And with the ...

    Nice extension cable

posted by vagservice on 04/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent cable - it's build quality is top-notch. The connections are all soldered very well, then encased in silicone to prevent shorting out. What can I say? It's a cable, and it works well.
    Cons:
Not a fault of the cable, but if your power supply can't handle the extra distance the device's connection can become unstable

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It's small, it works very well, it's got a built in LED status light. The price is cheaper than I could find anywhere for something like this
    Cons:
For some reason that I can't quite grasp they didn't remove the key pin. If you look at any standard IDE cable (in this case 4...

    OK after mods

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
it's molded to fit the Macbook. It's got cutaways on the bottom for the battery power switch etc.
    Cons:
It's too thick. I guess they had to make it that way so that it wasn't going to crack up, but it makes the computer a lot bulk...

    Good quality set, good selection

posted by vagservice on 04/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent selection of bits. The metal bit holder extension is useful to get in some tight locations, as you may know if you've bought sets without it and you needed to get the bit in a blind hole. The quality of the bits is impressive - these aren't abou...
    Cons:
I received the set missing 2 bits - the 3.5mm slot and the 2.5mm hex. Not a big deal since I have those bits elsewhere, but ev...

Excellent build quality, very useful tool

posted by vagservice on 04/26/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
This is a good quality item. I've had to disassemble several to shorten them and the connections internally are solid as a rock. The solder connections at the pins are very well made, and the whole 7 pins are then encased in silicone to keep them separate...
    Cons:
If you pull hard enough on the cable you could pull the pins out of the connector. But why in the heck would you be doing that...

    Small, portable, excellent drive

posted by vagservice on 04/25/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Excellent throughput, insanely small (slightly larger than an iPhone & incredibly light), low power requirements, well built & attractive (looks uncannily like an iPhone).
    Cons:
Like an iPhone the rear cover (metallic) can scratch fairly easily, and it doesn't have an on/off button.
