    2 Cell Parallel Converter

posted by vipers on 10/23/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - Use AA in you D Cell devices. Parallel connection keeps the voltage the same and doubles the capacity.
    Cons:
    - Plastic is thin and feels brittle. For most of the case that's not a big deal; the latches I worry will break.

Two hooks are better than one.

posted by vipers on 10/23/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - Sturdy build. - Simple but extremely useful.
    Cons:
The connection to the head rest should either be a little stiffer or more flexible. I never worry about it breaking but car se...

    Got power?

posted by vipers on 10/23/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - Sits nice and almost flush; doesn't get in the way near the 12V port. - 700mA is kind of a sweet spot for not exceeding a lot of USB device recommended charge rates but being fast.
    Cons:
    - 700mA charge rate might not be enough for some high power devices. - USB port actually is slightly misaligned with the openin...

    Outstanding

posted by vipers on 04/18/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
It's tiny; no need for a whole other cable if you are like me and have a mix of micro and mini USB devices. The little lanyard let's you hang it conveniently off a main cable so it's 2 in 1 without risk of losing it. Fits well and pins seem to be solidly ...
    Cons:
No real cons that I can think of without really stretching it. So small it could be easy to lose. In which case don't buy this...

    Fire!

posted by vipers on 04/15/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
It works and throws decent sparks. Unlike some of the cheap ones the scraper actually has a side with bare metal instead of needing to be sanded for good function. Long rod gives nice length for using the scraper to develop good sparks.
    Cons:
See other thoughts. Limits but not really a con.

Don't plan to use the clip and you'll be fine

posted by vipers on 01/08/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Well constructed. Opens smoothly and locks tight. Nice size and mostly a nice design; it's small and lightweight with a useful blade.
    Cons:
The design of the thumbstud is awful. Not only does it stick out significantly from either side but it's located near the entr...

    Well made body, horrible beam

posted by vipers on 10/11/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
    - Momentary/twist tailcap is unique on DX. - Well machined. You wouldn't guess the price. Construction beats more expensive budget lights.
    Cons:
    - The beam; it's blotchy and generally horrible.

Good value but not entirely genuine

posted by vipers on 05/13/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Great quality light body. Well machined. Decent beam quality in a well driven P60 module. Just the slightest Cree ring around the hotpot. If you like tailstanding, the tailcap provided will tailstand and the switch works well. Stainless steel smooth bezel...
    Cons:
Tailcap is not actually a model made by Solarforce. While I had no issues with it some have complained about switch quality in...

    Excellent little light

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - Very good fit and finish. - Body has survived a couple weeks in the coat pocket with other items with no apparent effect. - Body design provides nice grip. - Forward click switch with a nice feel. - A little ringy at close range on a white wall but not ...
    Cons:
    - Not the newest/most efficient emitter - P3. For those who haven't seen new LED lights you will be impressed though. - Appear...

Great for on the go use

posted by vipers on 04/04/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
    - It's tiny to take along. - Keychain loop to help keep you from losing it deep in your bag - because it's so tiny. - Both connection ends fit securely. They don't feel overly tight or sloppy.
    Cons:
    - It is a dongle. One straight solid connection is it. Make sure you don't need to have the flexibility of a cable for your c...
