    Cons:
Extremely tight fit for some 18650 batteries - I'm using unprotected cells and it needed some effort and bending of contacts to...

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Bright enough to view in dark rooms. Bought with the intention for my grandmother who cannot see normal clocks well enough (even those with backlights). There are other colours but I though this would be the brightest and least distracting. Has a internal ...

One remote to control it all

posted by wks79 on 09/23/2012 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Has several hundred remote codes built in already but most are from older models and may not work - luckily it has a learning function to allow you to program and assign button functions to 6 devices (TV, SAT, DVD, CABLE, DVB and AUX). The remote is back...
    Cons:
Manual instructions are very misleading but you can probably figure out with a little trial-and-error. The self discovery mode ...

Cool white LED bulb ... DC only!

posted by wks79 on 11/01/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Not really G4 bulbs (the pins are too wide apart) but nothing a little plier work won't solve. These bulbs emit a cool white glow and are nearly as bright as equivalent halogens without the heat.
    Cons:
I did a mistake of not checking my lamps which turned out to be using 12V AC-AC adaptor so this resulted in heavy flickering fr...

    OTG for Samsung S2s

posted by wks79 on 10/16/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Waaaay cheaper than other OTG adapters for the S2 phone. Works immediately without need for configuration and the S2 detects thumbdrives and external drives onced plugged in. Small and easy to store for OTG use.
    Cons:
USB port seems to be a rather tight fit but build quality is pretty good for something so cheap. Default S2 firmwares only supp...

If you need CRV3s then get this

posted by wks79 on 09/06/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
If you use CRV3 batteries then you know what this item is. Instead of spending on disposable CRV3s, this allows you to recharge the included battery. I bought this to replace/compare a charger I already have from a different Korean manufacturer. The proble...
    Cons:
Is slightly hotter than my previous charger. Does not seem to like other CRV3 battery sizes but they still charge as long as th...

    Pros:
Its a HDD cooler for 3.5" harddisks ... what else do you need to know? Two fans blow continously on your hdd cooling it down to avoid premature failure ... best if you live/work in hot conditions where tempreratures are high or are using programs that ...

    Cheap but works

posted by wks79 on 05/28/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Bought this because the prints on my keyboard were wearing out unusually fast (although I can touch type, other ppl using my PC have problems locating keys). So after getting a replacement keyboard I wanted to avoid the problem of the labels wearing out aga...
    Cons:
Will not work on full height keyboards - only on those with 2-3mm tall keys because the cover is pre-moulded. What else .... t...

    Best AA-C converters

posted by wks79 on 04/02/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheapest I could find but still at the same quality. At the nearest electronics store, they were selling these for around US$2.60 for a pair but I'm getting five here for less than that! It easily converts most AA batteries (alkalines, zinc, rechargeables) ...
    Cons:
Build quality may be a bit flimsy at the hinge but it should last long enough between battery changes/recharging.
