Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

Not much brighter than 5W 0.7A krypton bulb

posted by wt808 on 05/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
3 bulbs for 2 bucks and change, xenon?
    Cons:
Not noticeably brighter, I think because the irregular dome tip kills the output on smaller reflectors such as the one I'm using.

Krypton bulb, poor quality, only 1 received

posted by wt808 on 05/24/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Novice (still getting used to it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
A bulb, output seems to be as advertised, and the domed bulb shape gives a smooth light pattern.
    Cons:
It's marked as a krypton bulb. I only received one bulb. The bulb glass was assembled crooked from the base at a very noticeabl...

Sloppy soldering, board needs to be smaller

posted by wt808 on 03/20/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
When installed on a drive, bottom edge is flush with bottom of drive
    Cons:
The top edge sits higher than the top of the drive, so it cannot be installed before sliding the drive into the bay. Long solde...

    Installation considerations

posted by wt808 on 03/05/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Working adapters. Connector shells take guesswork out of cable orientation.
    Cons:
The board protrudes past the rear edges of the drive, so if you need to slide the drive through a matching opening or the sides...

    OK, not great

posted by wt808 on 01/15/2008 Certified Owner

Involvement:Expert (understands the inner workings) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Screwdriver ends have relatively good, precise build. No need to change bits. Inexpensive. When the tip wears out, throw it away and buy another set.
    Cons:
Lousy case Loosey-goosey color coded handle caps. I would still prefer some sort of indication of the type of drive tip on the ...
