Great little flashlight for the money

posted by zhangrongbin on 08/20/2013 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:less than 1 day

    Pros:
Very bright, works off of one single inexpensive AA battery, zoom function works easily, nice positive clicking (reverse clicky so no momentary on/off), feels pretty sturdy although the metal doesn't feel like the best, o-rings at both endcaps.
    Cons:
The tailcap switch is a very ugly ORANGE color. None of the photos showed that. The metal finish isn't the greatest. Althoug...

    Can't complain for the money

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:more than 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, lightweight aluminum and rubber edges make the ipod easier to grip and provides good protection. The finish on the aluminum is a nicely brushed finish, and the rubber is textured to improve grip. Does not interfere with charging or attaching most a...
    Cons:
Can be tricky to get on. Rubber is glued onto the aluminum backplate with pretty weak glue. The rubber portion is already sep...

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Sturdy construction, good range of adjustability including tilt and rotation, all adjustments can be made without tools since knobs allow tightening by hand, solid mounting with the suction cup, comes with adhesive mounting disk for dashboard mounting, and ...
    Cons:
The adhesive on the disc is so weak that it is unusable. A look at the adhesive pad will show you that it is very thin. Even ...

posted by zhangrongbin on 10/01/2011 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 week to 1 month

    Pros:
Cheap, bright, easy to mount, flashlight part is quick-detachable for use as a handheld light (or just to avoid leaving it on the bike), different modes of operation (constant on, blinking)
    Cons:
It feels cheaply made. The light is made of lightweight, brittle plastic. The light 'broke' after a week of being mounted on...

    Bright light, good construction quality

posted by zhangrongbin on 08/22/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Construction appears very good. The finish is clean. Looks like it will stand up to a lot of abuse. The light is very white and bright. Pleasantly surprised at the level of light from just one AA battery. Not much larger around than the AA battery it u...
    Cons:
The wrist strap is very thin and looks flimsy. It should really be called a "wrist string". I'm sure it would snap off with a...

    Pros:
Inexpensive, lightweight, quiet operation, USB powered, allows you to comfortably use your laptop on your lap.

Ok, not the tactical handheld I was hoping for

posted by zhangrongbin on 07/18/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
Cheap, good brightness with a very white light, can take 2x CR123 batteries, nicely finished
    Cons:
Clicky tailcap switch is LOUD, and the light does not come on until fully clicked so it cannot be used as a momentary switch. ...

    Pros:
Solid construction, comes with flip-up lends covers, mounts solidly to picatinny-spec rail (use a flathead screwdriver to really tighten the screw), held zero after usage on a real AR, looks very much like the real thing from a distance, co-witnesses perfec...
    Cons:
Was very disappointed to take it out to an outdoor shoot and realize that the sight is useless in bright daylight. The green r...

DX's prices on these batteries cannot be beat!

posted by zhangrongbin on 04/28/2010 Certified Owner

Involvement:General (knows how to use it) - Ownership:1 day to 1 week

    Pros:
These AG4 button cell batteries work in any watch using SR66, SG4, LR66, 177, SR626, or SR626SW batteries. In the local markets they are hard to find, and the next best price on the internet was over 3 dollars for ONE battery! And you had to pay shipping ...
    Cons:
Just the wait to receive them.
