The C8 drop-in sku.122401 is said to also fit the C2. Perhaps you could get DX to send you one of those instead of a whole new torch (because the item was faulty).

Didn't get the C2 from Dx, but in any case I already ordered the emitters on stars (4$ for XM-L2 is neat).
Soldering 2 wires and a dropping a bit of thermal paste isn't a problem.

Do you mean the $4.10 XM-L with 2S tint bin or are they from elsewhere too?

    XM-L2 T6 3B tint bin, should be ~5000-5200K.
DX has gotten really slow at shipping stuff, so I skip them for items that can be had elsewhere.
Like the community here though :)

Ah, found it, $4.05 in a 3B tint. Very nice. That web site lists the tint bins of all its LEDs!

The forum here is worth it just for desolder. Oh, and gasbag11. And lots of other really nice folk, of course.

The forums here are definitely much broader in scope. The most of the posts on F...T... are about vaping. Although the prices at FT are very tempting, and they have stuff that DX doesn't have or used to carry.
What's up with the scrubbed LED driver IC markings?
What are they trying to hide?

Before the "stuff" hit the fan about the shipping delays, I had an order arrive 7 days after the order date from that site. Two "slower" orders took 9 and 10 days. Exceptional compared to my average 1 month ~ 5 weeks wait from here. That site has direct shipping with USPS, which accounts for the shipping efficiency. I agree about too much vaping stuff, but they've gotten some new lights and other items in the last 3 ~ 4 days. Finally.

My fastest order here was 2 weeks from order date, but it was guaranteed to ship within 72 hrs.
NO! I don't know why DX screwed up the site so badly.
    Ask them.

DX is still good if you want to surprise yourself, order something get it months after the fact :D
That other site also has tags, not perfect but much much better than DX.
