Dices: D4, D8, D10, D12, D20

  • zeh89 Friday, October 28, 2011 11:02 AM Reply
    I've already made a Product Request, back in 9/22/2011. Still got no response.

    I would like to see different dice here in DX, with 4, 8, 10, 12 and 20 sides. Is it possible?

    Probably packs + assorted colors would make some good kits with good prices.

    +1

    Also other dice such as D3 (six sided but 1-3 repeated twice), D16, D24 & D30.

    Compass dice (D8, but with "N", "S", "E", "W", "NE", "SW", "SE" & "NW" instead of numbers or pips).

    Double dice 2D6 (one dice inside a larger hollow transparent dice)

    Other multiple dice (such as three tiny dice D6 - like the tiny dice they already sell in SKU 8667 - inside a larger transparent dice D6)

    Round dice (D6, but spherical instead of cubed - sounds stupid but they work well and rest correctly at the defined numbers instead of halfway inbetween as you might expect them to most of the time).

    Colour selection dice (single large pip on each face, but each in a different colour).

    Shape selection dice (same as colour selection above, but a shape instead of a colour - square, triangle, circle, star, etc. for each face).

    Interrogative dice (words such as "Who", "When", "What", "Where", "How", "Why" etc. on the faces instead of numbers or pips).

    Math symbol dice ("+", "-", "X", "", "=", "±", "÷", "≤", "≠", "≥" etc.).

    Fractions dice ("¼", "½", "¾", "⅛", "⅜", "⅝", "⅞", "⅓", "⅔" etc.).

    (Too lazy just now to go and find the images for each one, but people can google if they really don't get what I mean).

    Edit: I knew I was forgetting something.

    Also Alphabet dice ("A", "B", "C"......,"Z") for word games

    and also

    some Poker dice.

    +1 for me too.

    I could use most of the die you have suggested above @FallenArchangel ....for gaming of course, but more importantly for teaching/illustrative purposes.

    Very cool suggestions mate.

    @FA,

    D3 is really not needed right? ;-)

    Just use a normal die where
    4 = 1
    5 = 2
    6 = 3

    problem solved :)

    The trouble with that slippery slope, of distinguishing between "need" and "want", is that I'd be screwed and probably forced to admit that I haven't "needed" a single one of my purchases so far lol.

    Ideally I would want a true D3 (a triangular cross-sectioned cylinder with rounded convex ends allowing it to only land on three different sides), but a) I wasn't entirely certain whether anyone had already invented this and b) I wanted to at least pretend to be reasonable and capable of compromising with my requests.... ;-)

    Oh wow, we will be spending a lot in dice if DX put them on the website!

    I want to add that kind of true D100 to the above list of requested dice.

    Response to threadid.1268310 to stay on-topic(in off-topic thread)

    Bought them on an US website,one for geeks,but obviously,I can't post the link :)
    3 sided dice is fairly easy to describe, triangular prism, but with rounded edges and top&bottom(so it can't stan on top of bottom,only sideways),at least, if I describe it in a clear way :p

    However, I did have a D6 once that had 1,2&3 twice so it was technically a D3
    But I do like this design below
