arduino r3 not working on mac os x

    I've just purchased an arduino uno r3 SKU: 120464 and it works great on windows, but on mac os x, arduino ide complains and can't upload sketch. Did anyone experienced this?

    I don't do any development work on the Mac, but I downloaded the Arduino IDE, loaded up blink, selected tty.usbmodem for serial port and Arduino Uno for board, uploaded it, and had blink going again on my Arduino Uno.

    When I plugged in the Arduino it detected a new network interface, I accepted it and applied it even though it said it wasn't configured.

    That was it, I tried it on an early intel iMac with 10.6 and a fairly recent Mac Mini with 10.8 and not problems other than I don't like Macs.

    I own an "original" arduino that works like a charm on mac os, but this one sku.120464 , although is working fine on windows, in my macbook air doesn't. I just can't upload any sketch. Wondering if there is some other driver for the USB conection...
