Tail cap replacements

  • rndmksubnqos2 Friday, April 4, 2014 8:49 PM Reply
I have some CREE Q5 flashlights and UltraFire WF-502B flashlights. Both types have problems with the tail cap switch. How can I order replacements for them?
I think that SKU: 288518 is for the UltraFire but I'm not sure.
I cannot find anything for the CREE.
    Any help?

sku.219329 should work for the 502B light.

DX doesn't have many switches. Look through these. > http://www.dx.com/p/replacement-mode-clicky-switch-for-502b-flashlight-white-blue-golden-219329#.Uz7Ct_ldVpo

Do you have an sku # for the other light? If not, take the switch out and measure it and try to find one that will fit.
NO! I don't know why DX screwed up the site so badly.

    You're welcome.

Btw, did you check those switches? I've had a few that were loose, and one that just had a small amount of corrosion on the contacts. A little sandpaper cured it instantly. One switch also had to be VERY tight before it worked reliably.

I did take them apart and there is nothing suspicious about them, but I'll look again.
BTW the Cree is a complete tail cap and cannot be broken down without destroying it. (By me at least.)

If the Cree switch has no locking ring with the 2 holes/dimples, it may be pressed in. Those can usually be pushed out from the back. I have a LOT of flashlights and never saw one with a switch that can't be disassembled.

There's a sticky in the flashlight forum with tips for fixing problems.
