currency conversion

  • georgedryden Thursday, September 25, 2014 10:20 AM Reply
Saw several items on main DX site. Quoted in US$
Ordered through the AUDX site which changed thr price to adjust for currency conversion.
Order got sent to Paypal as US$ not AUS$
    Paypal converted the currency .
I paid two lots of currency conversion.

DX say all prices are in US$ so why does the AUDX site hike the price up

All transactions are in US$. DX like most companies dealing internationally, deal only in US dollars, irrespective of which service you buy through, DX.com, AU, US or EU. The different currencies shown on the product pages are there for our convenience only; you can toggle from one to the other by clicking on the national flags. Currency rates are constantly fluctuating so they are seldom exactly right. They are there just to give us an idea of values in our own money.

The reason prices are slightly higher on AUDX than for the same item on DX.com is nothing to do with conversion rates, it is to cover the extra transport cost for express delivery via Toll Express… no shipping is free, it is included in the purchase price.
