UltraFire C3 and using a 14500 cell?

  • repard Thursday, December 1, 2016 4:00 AM Reply

I recently received this http://www.dx.com/p/ultrafire-c3-cree-1xaa-1x14500-flashlight-with-holster-1993 and immediately put an AA battery inside. I was a little disappointed at the light output, I thought it would be much brighter. Upon reading some of the reviews I noted that some are saying it is "imperative" that I use a 14500 cell with this light. I tried to order one from DX but they won't ship to Canada for safety reasons. I can probably buy a 14500 locally but they're very expensive.  Will this really improve the lumens on this light or should I just stick with AA's

    Please read my signature.

Also, there are 5 pages of "Discussions" on that light's page. Have you looked at them?

NO! I don't know why DX screwed up the site so badly.
    Ask them.

So sorry, I didn't notice the "discussions" section. I'm not a frequent user of these forums. I read through a lot of those posts and found any where from "no difference", "really bright", "doesn't work". So now I'm more confused than ever! I don't want to spend $15 on a 14500 locally if it's not going to work or might burn it out.
